Scanning with scanner

I usually scan my drawings that I draw on one side; and I know that lines from the other side of the paper would appear, so I normally don't scan drawings which I draw on both sides.

Vidi.  Veni.  Ergo cogito sum.

Meow?

kurandoinu:
Right. To try and clear things up. OP, these images are single sided aren't they?

Have you tried scanning a fresh piece of white paper?

cookieelover:
These images are all single sided,
and here's a scanned fresh piece of paper~

kurandoinu:
I take it that's the scanner I can see at the bottom. There's spots on that and no paper there so it couldn't be shadows from the paper. Perhaps dust as AnimeJanai mentioned earlier?

AnimeJanai:
The dots remind me of the effect of skin flakes on a scanner's mirror.  If your scanner has a mirror, see if there is dust on it.

Dust can be removed by using canned air to blow the dust off, or one of those non-scratching non-residue dusting brushed used to brush clean camera lenses could be used.  My wife bought an extra cosmetic brush for me to use as they are soft and non-scratching and cheap.  I store it in a ziplock bag to keep it clean between uses.
