Synthesia MIDI Request
« on: January 03, 2012, 07:34:13 AM »
Howdy,
Those familiar with a gaming program "Synthesia" would know about the MIDI (.MID) files.  Am currently trying to learn Piano eyecatch (Byousoku 5 centimeter) but I would really appreciate it if someone could add 'finger hints' + Left & Right hand colouring to the midi file (< direct link, no blacklisted torrents) or if someone could direct me somewhere that somebody may help me with it

I thought this is the most appropriate area for this topic, but move it as seen fit.

Derp, just realized after I posted it that it probably belongs in the music section.  my bad

MIDI files are, effectively, just sheet music which is then read by a player, which then plays it using virtual instruments. So unless it was specifically designed for that program, then it won't contain any extra information that isn't required to play the tune. My advice is to just load it up in a sheet music viewer (like Finale), since you can usually get a good idea of which hands you should play a particular note with from looking at that, assuming you can read music.

You might also be able to get someone familiar with Synthesia to add in that specific information for you (since it's such a short track), but you'd do better to ask on the official forums, if it has one, since I doubt anyone here has heard of it (I hadn't, until now).

And your link's broken, btw, though I was able to find the file you meant.
