Cons:
"Is it totally pointless or a philosophical anime?" You'll be asking yourself this.
Some times a show can just be too short, 6 23 minute episodes
The romantic aspect of the show can be kinda awkward at times especially if you are watching with another person.
Overall- Maybe you have to be slightly insane to fully enjoy FLCL, but it worth giving a shot. It's only 6 episodes, just watch it. This is one anime I'll probably watch every now and again throughout the rest of my life.

No philosophical as much as Metaphorical. Fans have picked apart every hidden meaning in each of the lines that aren't straightforward, and we're still missing out because of some of the hidden meanings the Japanese symbols can add. All in all its a wonderful anime about a boy's first love and how it changes him into a more mature person.

Allegorical is probably the better word here. Anything and everything in FLCL could be an allegory, if interpreted that way.

Yeah, Allegory for the characters, like Kanti, and Metaphors for the Script.
I swear, I could get into a huge explanation of the show from beginning to end, but I'd end up writing it for 2 or 3 days and give up.

Finished Eden of the East.
Am disappointed.
The series started out very promising. The premise is interesting, the characters are believeable and engaging, the plot has potential.
The ending sucks donkey balls.
At 11 episodes EotE suffers from the same problem as Yumekui Merry: Too little screentime to tie up the loose ends. Some neat things are introduced, but then there's no time to resolve them. The whole thing gets progressively worse during the last 3 episodes, with glaring holes in the plot and asspulls worthy of Shyamalan. They essentially consist of a huge information-dump and some extremely contrived shit that doesn't do shit to explain shit.
Until roughly 2/3rds through I thought it was overall above average, until the penultimate episode I thought it was average. The final episode sadly pulls it to clear "below average" status. 2/5, maybe even as low as 1.5/5

Don't forget to watch the movies.

Grave of the Fireflies/Hotaru no Haka
10/10
What can I say? It's gut wrenching to watch and will fill you with a sadness that I can't find words for. It is well worth watching and quite beautiful none the less. A movie everyone should see.
