Clannad + Afterstory.

Clannad - 8.5/10
Afterstory - 9/10

The only real thing I disliked about the series was that I liked Kyou, Tomoyo, and Kitomi more than Nagisa.
Other than that, very heartwarming, and deep. There's a reason it's so popular.

Nyan Koi.

7.5/10.

It was well animated, pretty funny, and very entertaining. I did not, however, like that he was basically obsessed with one girl, who, frankly, is basically typical dumb blonde, who happens to be godly at physical activities.
It was just annoying that he basically didn't even ever catch on to the fact that Kanako has strong feelings for him, even when she makes it pretty obvious a couple of times. I mean, even Kaede and Nagi noticed. He would just obsess over Kaede, when in reality he's better suited for Kanako, especially when they've been so close for so many years. (Even counting when they were 'enemies'.)

Either way, it was a good show. Worth the watch if you feel like watching a decent and humorous 'slice-of-life'.

Don't double-post. You'll get yourself into trouble.

If you say so.
Only did it because it was different days, and no one had come and posted another reply yet.

You can edit/modify in that case. Double-posting is a crime here. Doesn't matter if the dates are different.

Yeah, I know. That's what I planned on doing after you suggested for me not to double-post.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Bakemonogatari: 8.5/10

Pros:
Nice animation
Nice char designs
Nice soundtrack

Cons:
None

Nisenmonogatari: 7.8/10

Pros:
Better animation than Bakemonogatari
Awesome Voice Acting
Some ecchi/perverted scenes are rather well made (well a particular fetish was kinda popularized due to this)

Cons:
A bit too perverted
There are more jokes and pervy stuff rather than main story.

I never really paid much attention to voice of char before. I mean sure it's important, but it never really did impress me. This is the first series that has ever done so.
I really liked Shinobu's voice acting. I watched certain parts of anime just to hear that voice.

Gundam 00: 8/10

Pros:
Nice Story with equally nice animation
A lot of character's with nice designs and personalities
Good Pace of animation

Cons:
Some aspects were left out even though they are not that important nor does it make that much difference to story. Only mecha fans would care about it I think

Gundam Movie : Awakening of Trailblaze : 8.5/10

Pros:
Nice story with equally nice aniamtion
The action get's better here

Cons:
Still Incomplete.
Conclusion is still not clear

Note: The movie is the direct sequel to the series and not a remake. Thus you might need to see that if you want to complete the story.

Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi II 6/10

Pros:
Really cute shounen-ai
Nice plot and storyline
Anime was about manga editors, and I learnt a lot about manga from this anime

Cons:
Animation wasn't great, but still bearable

Overall I enjoyed it a lot. Never thought that shounen-ai might be cute.

^ it was much better than a 6, but anyway...

Full Metal Alchemist (original + movie) - 7.5/10

Pros:
Very grown up and mature, a lot of respect for the producers
The latter half is very interesting and hard to stop watching
Science
Believable characters
Touched me more than Clannad at a certain part of the series (when a certain Lt. Colonel died)
Great fights, world and characters
Love the early 2000 art style

Cons:
The first 14 or so episodes are very boring
Winry
The ending in the movie was kinda not what I expected, but overall it was a decent movie.
the same gags over and over and over and over and over again get kinda old...

Overall: it certainly isn't as great as fans say it is but it worth watching if you have the time, it's very interesting if you give it a chance. I seriously doubt Brotherhood is so much better, but I will start it tonight. Also just because it isn't fully based on the manga doesn't make it worse. I'd like to see anyone else make a good ending like they did with FMA.

---------------------------------

FLCL - 9/10

Pros:
Great art, characters and world
Super funny
Some very deep moments
Unique, truly a one of a kind masterpiece
Just a really really great OVA series

Cons:
"Is it totally pointless or a philosophical anime?" You'll be asking yourself this.
Some times a show can just be too short, 6 23 minute episodes
The romantic aspect of the show can be kinda awkward at times especially if you are watching with another person.

Overall- Maybe you have to be slightly insane to fully enjoy FLCL, but it worth giving a shot. It's only 6 episodes, just watch it. This is one anime I'll probably watch every now and again throughout the rest of my life.

No philosophical as much as Metaphorical. Fans have picked apart every hidden meaning in each of the lines that aren't straightforward, and we're still missing out because of some of the hidden meanings the Japanese symbols can add. All in all its a wonderful anime about a boy's first love and how it changes him into a more mature person.

___________________ _______________
Great Teacher Onizuka  5/10

Pros:
Wicked Sense of Humor.
Decent Animation.
Plot thick.

Cons:
Voice acting isn't very good, both with English and Japanese.
Often feels drawn out.
Not really exciting.
Too predictable.

Once Kanzaki shows up things start being more entertaining, but there are still a lot of dull moments.

Seinen and Slice of Life cannot describe the same title, because daily life is too boring to be called a plot. Ecchi/fanservice is not plot either.

Allegorical is probably the better word here. Anything and everything in FLCL could be an allegory, if interpreted that way.

Yeah, Allegory for the characters, like Kanti, and Metaphors for the Script.

I swear, I could get into a huge explanation of the show from beginning to end, but I'd end up writing it for 2 or 3 days and give up.

Finished Eden of the East.
Am disappointed.

The series started out very promising. The premise is interesting, the characters are believeable and engaging, the plot has potential.
The ending sucks donkey balls.

At 11 episodes EotE suffers from the same problem as Yumekui Merry: Too little screentime to tie up the loose ends. Some neat things are introduced, but then there's no time to resolve them. The whole thing gets progressively worse during the last 3 episodes, with glaring holes in the plot and asspulls worthy of Shyamalan. They essentially consist of a huge information-dump and some extremely contrived shit that doesn't do shit to explain shit.

Until roughly 2/3rds through I thought it was overall above average, until the penultimate episode I thought it was average. The final episode sadly pulls it to clear "below average" status. 2/5, maybe even as low as 1.5/5

Grave of the Fireflies/Hotaru no Haka

10/10

What can I say? It's gut wrenching to watch and will fill you with a sadness that I can't find words for. It is well worth watching and quite beautiful none the less. A movie everyone should see.
I have half a mind to kill you and the other half agrees...

 • Tasogare Otome x Amnesia

Great animation, very rich & diverse color - dipping into the realm of psychedelic - mixed with moody & dark.  Damn, some of the nicest artwork I've seen in a while.  Soundtrack was Good to Excellent and very appropriate for virtually every scene.  A couple of tracks will haunt you with their beauty.

The story is fantastic, with a many unique elements.  One of the better ghost stories I've ever enjoyed.  In fact, a very serious contender for the top five.  There is a lot to feel about the characters, especially our main spirit protagonist Yuuko.

On the annoying side, some of the humor gets a bit silly for such a seriously themed story.  It's not that there shouldn't be humor, but some of it was distracting slapstick when it could have been toned back to let the drama have more impact.  The characters are well rounded out and develop nicely, but there are also quite a number of stereotypical tropes that were overplayed.  The presence of such isn't my main complaint, so much as they are portrayed with a heavy hand when more subtlety could have made this truly amazing.

At this point, I would give it all of a solid 8/8.5 of ten, and could even be persuaded it deserved a 9.

However.
(click to show/hide)

A pretty lame, immature ass-pull for which I take, at the least, a full point.  So, I put the final score at 7 of 10, and wish I could unsee that part.

Still highly recommended and enjoyable, especially if you want a ghost story that is largely creepy, tragic and horrifying, yet still gets you laughing and is touching & human.
I win, once again, in my never-ending struggle against victory.

ARIA (complete)

+some of the best art in the medium:
    +lush, vibrant backdrops
    +absolutely stunning scenery
+really managed to capture the beauty of Venice well
+top-notch soundtrack: Origination ED gets me every time
+always get a good vibe watching this
+dynamic characters
+always something to learn; characters have a cathartic experience at the end of almost every episode
+excellent chemistry for the main cast

-not animated in HD  :(
-animation quality is great but inconsistent at times
-fantasy elements that didn't really mesh with the story
-usually very boring; you'll find mundanity not unlike that of K-ON
-avoids slapstick and toilet humour, but the comedy is still a little off

8/10 (7.5/10 Animation, 7.5/10 Natural, 8.5/10 Origination)

ARIA was one of those anime I found very hard to rate. On one hand, I think it could be considered a masterpiece for many people. On the other hand, I couldn't get past how dull it was for the majority of each episode. (Clearly I wasn't part of its target audience.) I'd recommend that you don't try to marathon this or try to finish this in short order for that reason. That being said, I found myself enjoying the series much more when I started to limit myself to 1 episode a week or less. In the end, it took me nearly 6 months to finish this series, but it was definitely worth it.

Angel Beats!

Story: 8/10
Music: 7/10

Overall a 8,5/10 to be honest.
It is one of the better animes I've seen, the only downpart being the short duration and the missed chances of character developement.

Steins;Gate

10/10

It's taken me a couple months to finish this one... or was it only a few hours? I can't tell anymore.

I got irritated and dropped this show at around episode 5 because the story was progressing so slowly and I couldn't stand how stupid Okabe was.

(click to show/hide)

There were more nit-picky things that irritated me about the beginning of this anime but I simply can't remember them... maybe it's because I crossed world lines? Or maybe it's because the last half of the anime made me forget about them all?

There were so many problems I had with this anime but episode 12 and on just blew me away; and the ending..... it just.... well it made me rate the anime 10/10 despite how irritated I was with the first half so that should tell you something.

I feel... good after watching this anime. Simply... good.
