Ano Natsu de Matteru (4/5)

+ likeable characters
+ good chemistry
+ amazing animation
+ bitter sweet ending
+ funny moments

- okay plot
- frustrating to see people not expressing their feelings

Now and Then, Here and There (4/5)

+ dark and gloomy
+ likeable characters
+ captivating story

- too short to really explore some characters
- a few annoying plotholes
- annoying villain

Record of Lodoss War (5/5)

+ great characters
+ very good story
+ great visuals, really amazing for a 90's anime.
+ very good character design
+ dragons are always a plus, would you take a look at this motherfucker?

- perhaps a bit short

Bubblegum Crash! (4/5)

+ great animation
+ really good stuff for a 80's lover
+ good stories in little amount of eps
+ great soundtrack

- only three eps

^not really Crash's fault, but a BD release would certainly make it a lot easier to see just how detailed the animation is as with Crisis.

Towa no Quon (5/5)

+ great animation
+ amazing fights
+ mostly good character development
+ good story
+ good likeable cast

- few annoying characters (true for most anime)

Wonders how many anime shows I can finish before another posts.

10/10: Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd GiG

I know i am relatively new to this, but i don't think i will find anything soon that'll be able to top this Series.

-) Realism of Action Sequences
-) Complexity of Story
-) Awesome Pace
-) Not many filler episodes, and even those are awesome
-) Contains great Philosophical Concepts, while not overloading it with "false sense of depth"
-) Good Character Development
-) The Grand Finale is just pure awesome (watched the last 7 episodes in one session)
-) Very good animation

And just the greatest balance of all elements ever:
Intelligence, Philosophy, Complexity, Comic relief, Pace, Character Development

It's balanced perfectly, but of course that is just my opinion.
My biggest problem is that i have rated the first season already with 10/10, but think that the second season even surpasses the first one ;-)....

Well: So far this is my favourite Anime !

REDLINE 8/10

Pros:
Racing is rare for anime lately.
Interesting visual style.
Selling with Sex kept low, but it's there.

Cons:
Very little plot.
Character backgrounds seem like an afterthought.
The "romance" part seems so forced its unnecessary.
Not a movie for people who apply the "laws" of physics to everything.

It was a pretty enjoyable movie, though I'd love to have a version that has the minute or so of boobs edited out so I can watch it with my family. Must admit that the side plot and shallow character development kept it from being a great movie though.

Oda Nobuna no Yabou | rating : 9/10

Pros

-- NIWA NAGAHIDE (120 points~)
-- Fast paced storytelling, blazes right ahead to important plot events
-- LOLIS (GOEMON)
-- LOLIS (HANBEI)
-- LOLIS (INUCHIYO)
-- SHOTA WITH A HAREM AND AN ADULT WIFE (...don't ask)
-- decent comedy
-- character driven, and likeable characters (see first points)
-- harem~esque yet fanservice thankfully takes a back seat so you can enjoy it's artistic licensed history lessons.
-- nothing like the previous Sengoku Otome despite having a similar premise, this one's a little more (if only a little) serious
-- pretty, colorful character designs. though it can still fare without the girls. but it would be a heavily toned down
sengoku basara prequel then.

Cons

-- fast paced storytelling, yes, it's a double edged sword. stuff happens faster than the speed of plot.
sometimes it's hard to catch up and things get a bit confusing.

Eureka seveN AO 6.5/10

Pros:
Good animation.
Nice soundtrack.

Cons:
Plot direction seems like a compass getting tossed down a hall of magnets.
Not a very satisfying ending.

All in all, it wasn't as good as the first series. They were less focused on interpersonal relationships and character development, but more on the "save the world from... wait, which one's our enemy now?" plot twists that'd make M. Knight Shyamalan start a slow clap.

But honestly, this didn't feel like a necessary attempt to continue the anime, and the ending essentially makes the whole thing pointless anyway because in the end it accomplishes nothing but contradicting itself with a time paradox in both the one path theory and multiverse theory at the same time.

10/10 Mushishi
Pros:
-) great stories
-) very metaphorical
-) great main character (calm, dark humour, rational)
-) Very episodic (no complex story, just like a book full of fairy tales that somehow seem to connect in it's base)
Con:
-) Bad Character design
[but since it's one story after another instead of one complex story i think it's acceptable]

09/10 Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World
Actually the same as for Mushishi, but it didn't quite feel that special, and there were some episodes which clearly were weaker, still though:
Pros:
-) great stories
-) very metaphorical
-) good main character
Con:
-) Some episodes are clearly weaker

08/10 Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World - Byouki no Kuni: For You
Pros:
-) Feels like a Kino no Tabi episode

07/10 Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World - Tou no Kuni
Actually quite good, but it somehow feels weird to rate a 15 minute short Anime, so it would have fit very well with the Kino no Tabi Series, when rating it alone, well.... nothing that special...

07/10 Kino no Tabi: Nanika wo Suru Tame ni - Life Goes On
Quite interesting, but missing some relevance in comparison with other Kino no Tabi episodes

1. The main character is supposed to be a generic, relate-able male because its based off a "chose your destiny" style book.

2. There wasn't much to do with highschool in the anime, it was a battleground and the minor connection between several
characters that really had no impact on the story, so I wouldn't call that the setting by any means.

3. Of course the developments were induced to please fans, read point 1.
There are many other versions of the story too because there are different routes in the book. There's Unlimited Bladeworks, and Heavens Feel (not made into an anime yet). There's also the prequel anime Fate/Zero. All of which are darker than Fate/Stay Night.

Pros:
+ Incredible animation

+ More colourful than a thousand rainbows
+ Not so colourful etc. that it'll make you puke
+ Enough conflict etc. so it doesn't seem too 'cute'
+ Romantic
+ many more, go see it yourself!

Cons:
- Ending was a bit 'rushed?

/confusing???' not sure how to explain.
- Violence might be a little in your face for some, could make some wince etc.
- that's it?

Shitty subtitles aren't part of the character, they're the fault of the person writing the subtitles. And one line out of context isn't a good example.

I agree with Takeshi about FSN. But for me Rin > Saber. Otherwise. Yep.

Sword Art Online
10/10

+ Fantastic characters
+ Concept of dying in game = dying for real gave it some good drama
+ Battles were top-notch
+ Plot twists were well done
+ Great ending (last five minutes)
+ Excellent soundtrack

- Second half wasn't as good as the first half
- The addition of "Sis" was cute at first, then became slightly annoying

BTOOM!
2/10

+ Battle Royale with bombs! (Only reason why it didn't get a 1/10)
+ So bad it was funny

- Stupid as hell characters (some of the worst I've ever seen)
- Horrible plot/direction
- Dialogue was awful
- Characters completely one-dimensional
- Characters. Were. Stupid.
- New opening on the final episode? Riiiiight.

Additional thoughts: Left wide open for the sequel. If this series gets a second season, someone needs to get shot. Worst series I've seen in quite some time.

I see your points and counter with "that's just how I feel." I get that the main character is supposed to be relatable, and I did take that in mind when rating the show. But coupled with cheap animation in parts and a relatable main charatcer and it just felt so exhausted.

Agree with dbml about Sword Art Online although I would only give it a 4/5.

Sword Art Online 1000000000/10

Pros:
Great plot
Badass fighting
Tense atmosphere
Splendid chara development
Yuki Kajiura
Really fitting ending
Values which people should have in real life as well
Makes people feel joy, happiness, sadness, makes us cry and laugh together with characters

Cons:
Overall second arc wasn't as badass as Aincrad arc, however still much better than many things we get these days.
Some ecchi details like those tentacle freaks abusing Asuna.
NOT ENOUGH ASUNA in Alfheim arc.
Sugu's brocon. Though it was kinda fitting =//

That's about it.
SAO became my top 2nd favorite in a really short time. Didn't read the novels yet but will do that very soon.
Looking forward to seeing "Gun Gale Online". Hopefully it will get animation. And considering SAO's popularity I'm pretty sure it will.

Angel Beats! (plus OVA): 8.3/10

Pros:
-Unique romance (Even though I'm "allergic" to romance).
-Ridiculously funny!
-Great storyline (The ending saddened me - A mix of feelings).

Cons:
-Short; would be great if it's 24-episode long.

FLCL: 7.5/10

Pros:
-Awesome soundtracks!
-Unique and bizarre.
-The whole concept was really amazing (Somehow, I felt like watching more than 6 episodes).

Cons:
-Maybe lacking some "meat" (especially the first few episodes).

To Aru Majutsu no Index II: 8.7/10

Pros:
-Storyline: Actions, bloods spilling, Ka-POW!
-Prominent characters meeting each other.
-Soundtrack: Still awesome.

Cons:
-Too much obviously-forced ecchi scenes.
-Where's my Season 3..?

Pros:
-Setting (New York, Train in 1930s)
-Wacky characters and action
-Trains!

Cons:
-First few episodes were hard for me to get through
-A few too many characters; easy to forget some of them
-Overrated; good chance it will not live up to your expectations

Fate Zero (5/5)

+ amazing animation
+ amazing battles
+ nice cinematic feeling such as Unlimited Blade Works
+ very good pacing
+ very interesting and likeable characters

- some characters are kind of left out (Kariya)
- some motivations are far-fetched
- the ending is kind of off for me, will have to engage in discussions for it to make sense

Still one of the best anime of 2012. I can definitely understand why it's challenging SAO in the thread I made.

- disappointing animation
