Sorry you feel that way Ace. But I am perfectly happy with skirts in a micro gravity environment! Now if only the fanservice would keep it real! Dammit. lol

Actually the only thing I think is necessary as far as clothing goes would be pockets. The air temperature is completely controlled, so there would be no reason to not be absolutely comfortable, unless you were short on power, and or close or near to a stellar body. And even then 'BBQ rolls' are often enough to moderate the temperature sufficiently.

I hope this is a long running series,
as it does not appear to be going anywhere too fast. Which in itself is reminiscent of how space flight currently works. Slowly. Or to put it another way, you know when this show will be on its way off the air, by when the pace of things starts progressing incredibly quickly.
26 episodes.

Oh why not, you have princess swiss cheese. I suppose every name in this show is a reference to something else. At leaset it was Jimmy Doolittle, and not Doctor Doolittle.

Well, one might hope she could at least talk to animals if she was. Not sure if she'd need it where she is now, but I guess it would be an interesting skill to have.

As for the episode, stuff is heating up. Looks like we're gonna have a genuine firefight now.

And Chiaki, why you so tsundere? :)

That is probably the closest we'll get to actual fanservice in this show (other than the Blink-And-You'll-Miss-It pantyshot from Chiaki in one of the earliest episodes).

I'll admit, it started slow, but it's rapidly gaining momentum and ten episode in, I'm completely sold.

It's quite clear that Marika was destined to be a pirate captain, other than just because of her family having been pirates as well. She can make important decisions on the fly, doesn't panic under stress (or at least manages to control her nerves) and has shown remarkable feats of leadership. She's not perfect at the job yet, but given how short it's been since she started, I'd say she's doing quite well.

Chiaki's cosplay was brilliant. She actually seems to enjoy being a pirate captain, even if she'll never admit it when you ask her.

Privilege of being a tsundere :)

One other thing results in her progress or maybe two, her slow progress is based on the fact that she is still in high school and intends to graduate. Everyone knows she is not perfect, she knows it best, but as we said earlier, this is space and not watery seas, most of the time mistakes are out of the question because the stakes are too high and she knows it.

She's doing an outstanding job for a highschooler.

Awesome eleventh episode and next seems to just keep it up.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

(click to show/hide)

Totally didn't expect that, though personally I would go to them in the first place, but I wouldn't expect that, seriously, I was SURPRISED.

Is it only Marika who is aware of the situation ?

Poor bentenmaru ...

I'll pray ...

Ok, that action was hilarious, but still, the episode felt totally short, excellent pace.
Next ep preview showed something incredibly interesting, Next Saturday better come fast!

Pretty cool episode :)
Looks like Pirates will become real pirates pretty damn soon.

lmao space pirates, LICENSED space pirates. I laughed so hard at this. Also, I love the technology in the series. Still on episode 1.

How do you think England got Spain off its neck? Drake, Kidd, Morgan, letters of Marque were quite common, But then so too was prize money for bringing in captured ships and the treasure in them. You also got money for taking the enemy's cannons, cannonballs, gunpowder, you ate his food, and drink his booze, but you pretty much got cash for everything else.

It's so old, it's new!

Privateers have been around in Space Opera SF since the 50's, I suppose because they're neat. So the idea is pretty old in every sense. I have yet to watch Captain Harlock, perhaps it's the same deal?

I'm a few episodes into the show -- having gone back to it after watching the first episode a while ago -- I'm enjoying it. Although I think there's a good idea for a show/book here without the pirate angel. Something like Spice and Wolf in space, I don't know why, but I think it would be better suited to it. The intentional irony about the pirate aspect of the plot kind of undercuts it.

The whole idea of licensed Piracy at this point of the show is justified later on, you will also learn more about it around episode 15, I don't want to spoil anything but the whole License idea is fairly important at the later time if the show and will be an important note in the movie as well as in possible second season.

If you keep watch on the show and just care to see it through all your questions will be answered, unless you fast forward through anime.
