Anyone playing Ougon + Cross (Umineko Fighting game) Need Tech Help

I can enter the game  but... after character select... the character supposed to have a dialogue, but suddenly crashes

is it a boxed game? free download? cracked?
if you downloaded it then I'd re-download/reinstall it
if it's downloaded and you had to use a crack then I'd try to find a different crack and see if you get the same problem
if you've got a box and reinstalling doesnt fix the problem then I'd go to the creators website and check for patches
