Windows 7 auto-installs drivers, and I've never seen it go wrong...

Does a restart fix things? What happens when you click on the things that are flickering?

Loving the Bejeweled sound effects in the background, btw.

wish win7 auto-install work, but not...i dunno what happen...
one more thing, everytime i try installing win7 on that laptop, after the last part of win7, the progress bar before preparing your desktop, there the restart...that time, the laptop will beep continuously, forcing me to hard restart it...
i have to push Backspace button to make the flickering disappear, but it will return randomly...

Loving the Bejeweled sound effects in the background, btw.
thats my father who was playing it...

any other explanation / suggestion appreciated...

i dont think those issues are related to software, as most likely a clean install of OS shouldn't cause so much trouble. possibility that either the hardware is acting up but not necessarily broken or a lose hardware, beeps from a computer on bios boot usually means hardware trouble mind you.

Try uninstalling the graphic drivers that was installed through Windows Update and track down whatever ATI offers, and install that. Has it been re-formatted before or is this the first time? Perhaps there's some drivers that was installed before from the manufacture's DVDs that hasn't been installed yet. A lot of functions on my laptop that I just can't be bothered to install drivers to use.

Okay my bad, didn't see the video at first so I thought it was your whole screen flickering.
Not graphic drivers, but definitely a Windows problem.

thats why i believe that the problem could be hardware itself, like you all said...when i use the dvd drive original with the laptop, i always get the "long beep"...when i use my laptop dvd drive into his laptop, i rarely get the "long beep "...

i think thats not it in my case, because i use the same windows to format my laptop...

Look up the manual for your laptop, and see what it says about error codes. Most computers will beep in different sequences at startup if there's an error (eg. 3 short beeps for memory error, 2 long beeps for overclocking error, etc) (some will have lights instead - I had an old DELL PC which had 4 lights on the front which lit up in different combinations to indicate errors), and the manual will explain what each code means. That should give you an idea of where the problem lies.

EDIT: That said, I just looked up the service manual, and it makes no mention of any error codes, so maybe your laptop doesn't have this feature. If you got a manual or anything with the laptop, check that too.

is a bad videocard bios possible? it'll ultimately solve even the flickering problem if it is the case.

Edit: i mean't bad bios version, like a buggy version, this could also apply to the motherboard's bios which would also solve why win7 was getting rejected, or thats what i remember him saying a couple of days ago.

No idea if it'll fix the problem, but the service manual I linked definitely had instructions for restoring faulty BIOS (though you probably need a recovery CD to do it), and it had diagrams showing where the various jumpers for clearing settings and things are. Since the graphics card is integrated into the motherboad, I'd assume they share the same BIOS, but who knows.

Personally, I think it's unlikely to be the problem, but it's worth a try. I'm more inclined to think the cause is related to the beeping problems that occur when reinstalling Windows - modern computers normally only beep to indicate an error, so it might well be a code of some kind.

bios? nah, not gonna touch it...dangerous stuff...
not experience enough to do stuff like that...
gonna ask him to send his laptop to repair shop...

Most laptops (by most meaning all the laptops I worked with) doesn't have a feature to overclock them. I wouldn't overclock them anyways. Do you have an external mouse connected to the laptop?
