overclocking... on an already hot containment... i don't think melting the case is a good idea.

I wasn't suggesting anything about overclocking that laptop, I was just putting down the first examples I could think of of the kind of errors that are reported at boot time. Although in my experience, an overclocking error doesnt necessarily mean that you've overclocked the cpu ram to higher than their stock speed; I've had it happen a few times on a pc which wasn't overclocked. But it's definitely not the problem here.
Like I said, could you describe the beeping error in more detail? Is it the same kind of beep as older PCs used to make when booting? Longer? Shorter? Is there more than one beep? Does the screen display anything when it happens?

You kinda made it sound like that hardware error and the beeping thing happened during installation, like during the final phase of installation, and that it happens on every attempt. Does it always happen at the same spot in the installation process?
