They haven't had a new fire emblem in a long time (NDS ones were all just bad remakes). I'll admit I will miss the feel of FE6,7,8 (my favorites by far) but at least this one doesn't look nearly as bad as the NDS games. Also the characters are apparently going to be fully voiced, although I'm not sure if that will carry over to other regions as it might be too expensive for not enough return. It looks like they're bringing back the world map too which was a nice feature of FE8, and while I didn't really like the game as a whole the multiplayer was quite good and I hope that returns with some tweaking of course. Now if only they could only make a new advanced wars game with net play....
