But a $1500 laptop will play any current game at high settings. If you're willing to upgrade every 3 years or so then a laptop is fine.

Issue is cooling.

Fanboy requires dedication to a brand and/or specific game/book/form of entertainment.

This is just steering away from Laptops.

Like saying "buy a Car, not a Truck" for example.

You obviously have never met any pickup truck fanboys. Lucky you. They drone on and on about how trucks are so much better than cars, and insist that anyone that thinks otherwise is an idiot. You can be a fanboy over just about anything. Fanboyism is distinguished by a hostile reaction toward a challenge to a persons opinion on a particular subject due to the fanboys level of dedication.

hahahahahahaha, I didn't even understand what you meant by the fanboyism at first, its not a matter of that.
The question you asked is akin to asking "whats faster, walking or running" aka a stupid question that doesnt need to be discussed since the answer is obvious.

Quiet fanboy

vuzedome:
Gamers, CUSTOMIZABILITY, big big FPS numbers, bad ass.
All these go together, no compromises.

Desktops, though not all but most, can be customizable in almost every other way, which allows big big fps numbers and can be bad ass looking, for gamers.
Laptops, though not all but most, can only upgrade and change just so much but still can't hit godly fps numbers, ALIENWARE is not bad ass it's silly.

At not any point did I mention that you have to go big foot size for performance, hence the emphasis on customizable.

But laptops, mobility, and some do give excellent and if not exceeding expectations on performance.
It's not really a wise idea to be hauling your so heavy that it's silly to even carry super desktop.

At the end of the day, a PRO HARDCORE BAD ASS GAMER will get both a desktop and a laptop to kick ass and chew bubble gum for any where, any time.
