Outdoor Activities
« on: January 22, 2012, 11:33:49 PM »
So, I don't know if there's already been a thread like this, but what activities do you like to do outside? I assume at least some of you don't stay inside and watch anime all day. I'll start.

I love to go cycling with my friends. Sometimes we'll just ride to the library for fun, just as a destination. I got a Raleigh a few years ago and it's lasted great.

I also like camping and backpacking. I finally got a cold weather sleeping bag (Marmot) so I won't freeze.:D

Airsoft is the best, but it's hard to find people to play with and a place to do it.

Depends on the season. Now that I live in the middle of the town, I don't have to shove the snow any more, but me and friends usually go to a lake to grill some food and fuck around with the fire afterwards. The only difference is that during summer we also swim in the lake, during wither we drift on the ice with car.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

My idea of roughing it is a hotel with no internet.  But seriously, fuck Mother Nature.  There are walls between it and myself for a reason.

I do have an uncle, though, who is an avid outdoorsman -- hunting, fishing, scuba diving, etc -- all of which are expensive hobbies.  He usually hunts in Georgia a few times a year.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

Snow skiing, holy shit I've probably been in more pain from doing it this year then I have...well in a while.

My family has an old (I mean like...holyshitold) boat so during the summer I water ski and wakeboard and all that stuff. I used to play basketball, which is where I felt as much pain as I do when I ski. I have this thing a bout pushing myself sometimes...

Running, that's always fun, uhm, stairs, if those are different then running.

Just walking, alone or with people.

I used to be a biker, dirt (pedal) bikes and all that, but after a change of scenery it's no longer viable.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

Paintball. That's the only time you'll catch me outside unless I'm hanging out with a friend or at work.

you kiddin me? how the heck can i start an outdoor activity on a very tight city? i mean the roads are narrow, the place is packed with buildings and you can't really make trouble around the area. the only activity that i could do is walk... can't really afford going away as well.

think of it as chinatown with a busy street that even bicycles gets traffic.

I like to lie in a comfortable deck-chair with a chilled drink at hand.

Well does going to bars and concerts counts as winter outdoor activities? (one do spend loads of time outside as one can not get a smoke in there) That's the only outdoory thing I do in winter. Well unless a 1/2 -1 h long walks to visit friend to get drunk there...

As for summer - riding on my bike just for fun (have this nice racing track near my home) and using it as the only means of transportation. Well and going to sea to have a swim or pretend to sunbath in shadow while reading a book, oh and we have a few lake like things hear home I like to take a night swim there. Oh and having a bike rides from one town to another now and then. Oh and hanging out at friends country or summer homes, but it usually turns out just to be a big drinking party most of the time :D

...Men are so necessarily mad that it would be another twist of madness not to be mad...

Summer: BBQs, Hiking, Camping, Bike riding, music festivals (got a whole bunch in my area, including summerfest) normal festivals (theres at least one every week. Big one too) also Bonfires, alcohol, friends and (real) fireworks.
Winter: Stay the fuck inside and drink beer.

Everyday at lunchtime, I go outside for a walk to get some fresh air and a little exercise. All of the other times of day it is too dark to do anything outside. I don't like this time of the year. >_<

Snowboard and airsoft (rarely airsoft anymore... all my friends paintball if they're going to do either)! Never have I done both (snowboard and airsoft) at once, but that would be epic. I've always sucked ass at most ball sports. I was a OK at basketball, but honestly beer pong is the best I am at any ball sports. Generally, I'm unmotivated to do anything physical, hungover or have to much homework/video games to do, so I just try to get to the gym and work out until I can't move to make up for my physical stagnancy.

Now that I look at it, I probably do sound like one haha but I'm not because:

A. I'm pretty shit at beer pong in comparison to most other people who play it, I'm just so much even more shit at other ball sports that BP is forcibly the highlight of my athleticism.
B. I hate going to the gym, and I don't particularly care about looking buff. It's just the way to get the most exercise in the smallest amount of time with the least waisted effort.

I was gunna say something about that but it just didn't seem worth the effort. There are those stupid three wheeled piece of shit among others.

I know. My question wasn't all-inclusive. And I agree with Metro, trikes are so pointless. If you want to be safer, get a car.
