Any Tabletop Gamers here?

Just wondering if any of you play tabletop RPGs? D&D, Shadowrun, FFGs etc.

I was thinking of buying a few sets of armies from W40K, but damn this hobby is expensive. P&P is obviously cheaper, but I am not into them the same way as my girlfriend is.

I guess you are looking for someone in your area to play with?

EDIT: didn't know until now that Shadowrun was available as tabletop. Still remember the hilarity when my gf's group were playing as nazi elves bent on destroying any other race.

For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

Yep, I bought Assault on Black Reach a while back and realized my skill vs cost wasn't gonna work lol.

And I am curious as to if there are any here. I have a few "anime themed" books by Fantasy Flight (Same guys who did the 40k RPG) and seeing if there would be interest in play some in Maptools or OpenRPG.

If you just happen to be German, then there is this nerdy site where you might run into my gf and her groups. Otherwise you can wait and see if anyone else here is in a roughly same timezone as you that is willing to play.

Heh, maptools. Always made fun of it looking like a modified MSpaint  ;D

I play D&D, Pathfinder, Shadowrun, and WH40K

The thing with 40K though is, I'm more prone to buying the models and painting them than actually playing.  Still work towards a playable army (Imperial Gaurd ftw), but the assembly/painting is the best part.

I stopped playing 40k about 2 years ago... the constant power creep and price increases were ridiculous.

I switched to Infinity and I don't regret it - much better rules, awesome models and much, much cheaper.
I also picked up a small Firestorm Armada fleet and am starting a By Fire And Sword army - a 17th-century historical wargame (which I'm proud to have participated in creating). BTW. it has, IMHO, the best looking rulebook to date: http://www.ogniemimieczem.wargamer.pl/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=60:podrcznik-do-oim&catid=35:aktualnosci&Itemid=1 (this is a preproduction copy, the retail is hardcover and printed on high-quality, coated paper).
