Or you could just clean the city with your little tank which you surely keep in the backyard in case of a ZA. I mean all the zombies shit is really exaggerated - you want to clean the streets of zombies - pass through them with a tank (if the zombies are attracted to sound you can add a speaker on the tank) - it would be totally like mashing up potatoes :P. There would be only a problem if the zombies are not attracted to you - if you have a way to attract them - you've already finished half of the work...

oh and governments cant just launch nukes just like that, nor can the military, its like saying "newyork is infested with zombies! screw survivors and nuke the d.mn city and make it un-inhabitable for decades!" and to top it off "holy shit! mutant zombies! ruuuun!".
just look at racoon city, nuked and all and still zombies crawls.

That was on the joke side, but the military has plenty of tanks, so it's always dumbfounding seeing some soldiers depicted shooting at zombies :P.

yeah but how are you going to power it? it'll end up losing power at some point. then what? you just sit in complete darkness? It's not like you have to hold up against any sort of intelligent army. You don't need that well fortified of a building. I think the key is long term survival. You don't know when or if the world will turn to normal again. So finding a place that has plenty of food around and not a lot of zombies would be best.
