Final Fantasy X: Remastered

Nikkoru:
I suppose it's more accurate to say they lacked a "class selection system" but to me that's unnecessary.

4, 9 and 10 were virtually the same in that aspect of game design - with predefined character roles.

8 was roughly the same as 6 though with even less specifications per character.

7 & 13's basic division is between primary-magic and primary-strength characters, with some overlapping.

1,3, 5, and X-2 are the only ones with genuine class systems - in that you can change how the game is played by picking different jobs.

2's system is more like 12, you have room to develop characters in any role - but it becomes necessary to divide the labour unless you want to grind quite a bit to make them all Almighty.

I'm ignoring 11 and all the side products like Tactics and Crystal Chronicles.

sn4xchan:
You defined that perfectly.

Havoc10K:
I'm sorry, but 9 did have a class system.

Zidane was a thief
Vivi was a black mage
There was a knight (I forgot his name)
Freya was a dragoon (Lancer)
Garnet/Dagger and Eiko were a summoner/white mage
There was a Blue Mage.

Class system doesn't always mean you can choose between classes. It's not always working like that.
There are classes, which can only do what they have assigned.

FF7 didn't have as much of a class as well in that respect, but in general, following the weapon usage you could see the classes of each character. FF8 was the same thing. In FF6 (3 in US) there is exactly the same class system as in 9.

In FF X-2 you have a nearly complete class system, you can switch the classes even during combat but that's very limited as well (and that's a good thing) but it also made the game so much more fun.

The only way to have a true class system would be to return to FF4/5 or Tactics.

I'd rather see FF Tactics remastered than FFX which is not even remotely old enough to have a remake. But since it's going to be on a small screen of PSP/Vita I don't really give a shit about it.

If FFX lands on PS3, they should very well start making all their games for PC as well, cuz seriously, PC is a lot better platform for games these days, PC rigs give a lot more possibilities, but seeing how they did DS3 and DeusEx HR, I don't really want to see any more games from S-E on PC ever again, I didn't play any of their Lara Croft games yet, but I played the demo and didn't like it as well.

It looks to me that S-E simply wants to drop their franchise games and start new series, if so, why not just say so and start working ?

We won't hate you for that, if you do it right.

FFT was remastered for PSP and going with it for big consoles would be a mistake. Gameplay where the only place you could move your characters was a battle could pass on PSX but I doubt it would pass on PS3/X360.

Better technology doesn't matter in terms of on what primary system make a game. What matters is where will they make more money. So obviously PS3/X360/Smarkphones then 3DS/PSV and in the last place PC. Also, what is wrong with Deus Ex: HR on PC?

Havoc10K:
Oh come on!, i'm not talking only about the PC version, did you see the movie sequences ? or 100% accuracy from enemies ? or how weak the character is despite the fact that he is enhanced ?
The Story is ok, but teh way the game was designed is superbly stupid. Movie sequences look like they are from 2001.

Tell me i'm wrong.

FFT remastered ? it's only a port, there was no remastering done actually as far as vidoes show on youtube.

My point is, I loved the old games the company was doing, the new ones are only for the eyes, I know i'm complaining about how bad the games actually are, despite looking good the gameplay is actually crap.

This sells ? nice smelling crap is still crap, why not make a nice smelling delicious cake instead ?
