Final Fantasy X: Remastered

Nikkoru:
I might've been fine with FFXIII combat system if they didn't make every other aspect of the game terribly linear - from the maps to levelling. The fact that you could never die in XIII took what's left of the challenge - any time I actually did die I just used all my assault shrouds and quickly claimed victory. It was like watching an RPG themed movie.

I would've kept the story, characters (I loved Lightning's character design and voice), and general art design - done the combat system like X-2, ATB but with some choice as to what the hell you're doing, and done a levelling system like VI - learning magic/levelling your character with AP depending on your individual Esper. With character specific battles like in Chrono Trigger. They could keep the Timed Battle reward system, it was somewhat interesting - though it did feel somewhat Angry Birds-ish. Most importantly, I would've opened it up and filled it with interesting side quests and generally would have broadly increased the choices the gamer can make.

X was enjoyable, but I doubt anyone would put it as their favourite FF, and I think with the money and the franchise makes - every new FF should be the best ever.

If S-E will ever make the FFVII remake (and they will, as soon as they will start having big financial troubles) I will not buy it. Don't get me wrong, I love FFVII. However FFVII remake will not be the same FFVII anymore. I can't imagine FFVII without pre-rendered backgrounds. I can't imagine FFVII (or any FF before FFIX for that matter) with spoken dialagos (this really put me off in FFX). Also emo Cloud from AC looks terrible. They would probably fuck storyline too as they would add few quests including opportunity to resurect Aeris, and with resurected Aeris they'd have to change considerable amount of storyline and they would fuck it up. They would also probably change battle system (it's a remake, not remaster) because nowdays people for some reason don't like turn based combat and are used to jRPGs characters jumping like in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". So they would fuck this up too.

Ofcourse if all they do is replace characters models and up a resolution of backgrounds, I'm game but that's very, VERY improbable. So thanks, but no thanks.

Oh, you would be surprised to see how many people claim FFX as their favourite. I have no idea why as IMO it's not good at all.

That's what I mean about a re-release, just slight update to the visuals, since I think the game is perfect in all aspects, even every NPC even as they are low resolution they are still easily distinguished.
Up the resolution to nearest widescreen or better, and i'm game.

They removed the resurrection of Aerith for a valid reason and that remains a very good point in the game.
An important character like her, getting killed, triggering major plot flags and pushing the main character to commit an double reality check, break out from his nemesis spell and decides to stop him at all costs.

We should remember that as far as stopping Sephiroth goes Cloud didn't really care about staying alive afterwards. If he died right there he would be happy to join Aerith. He punished the wicked one, he didn't need to do anything more.

Also as far as FF7 goes, we know that both Aerith and Cloud love each other and the final video sequence shows that Aerith will wait for him.
Then FF7 AC comes around reassuring that Aerith still waits for Cloud and she doesn't intend on stopping. They made a few stupid things with AC which I don't like, but whatever. Service in form of Nice combat and also Tifa's presence, made AC pretty much a success. I personally don't like Tifa that much, I like her limit breaks, probably the most tricky thing in the entire game is to make all limits critical.

My fav team is and will always be Cloud+Aerith+Yuffie/Red XIII. But after Aerith is gone I need to use Tifa more with Yuffie.

Yuffie is just fun to have around.

The only thing that was good with FFX was the story, nothing else.
As far as characters go, I guess I like devilish little girls so Rikku is my fav in the FFX/2.

X is my favorite, and then VI.
