They did the same thing with VIII for the PS2 though. *Shrug*

I bought 1 to 9 and 11 (yes I skipped 10 because I didn't want to buy the PS2 just for FF10). I think I even bought 1-6 twice because I bought one of those collector editions once. But lately I don't have the money to keep up with both the PC AND consoles :(.

I have 1 to 13 excluding 11 I do not like morpgs that much I bought 8 twice cause i misplaced original only to find it 2 weeks later hidden under my dresser haha

Also I noticed alot of people saying they cannot see how X is peoples favorite out of the FF series.  Its easy for some who have played old game.
FF10 has some of the hardest bosses in the FF franchise, and most fun, Penance probably the hardest i've fought. Dark Aeons are challenging (Fighting the 3 sisters at the same time specifically). many awesome bosses from the Monster Arena, specifically Nemesis...

So yeah...great fights, voice acting, good graphics, good system, good side quests, good story...its easy to see why its many peoples favourite. Would be nice in the remaster if they added some more superbosses to the monster arena from previous version though; like Ruby, Ozma etc.

International version gave the most out of x but I do not want the fighting system to change I like it the way it is it should stay the same.  No xiii fighting style.

...FFX had the easiest boss fights by FAR in the series. Also the worst combat system. Well, XII's was pretty shitty too. Regardless, I see no reason for a remastered version, even to this day it is probably the best looking of all the Final Fantasies. I can't see how they'll make any money from it.

Isn't it coming out for the Vita? The ability to take it with me would be the draw for me.

If it has trophies, I'll get it.  And the reason they're remastering it is BECAUSE it already had such good graphics.  It will be a much cheaper process than to update the ps1 FF games.

I'll admit it had the second easiest boss fights in the series, 8 had the easiest (you won every fight just by spamming limit breaks).

I loved the combat system, though.  Making you use every character and giving them a specific niche was a fantastic route to go.

Hooray. A remake of a game I've already played coming out for a handheld... oh the possibilities *rolls eyes*

Sorry, just sounds like a complete waste of time and energy. I've never owned a handheld system and never intend to. No way in hell I'm playing a FF game on something with such a tiny ass screen. I want to SEE all the new pretty animation, not squint at it.

And the reason they're remastering it is BECAUSE it already had such good graphics.  It will be a much cheaper process than to update the ps1 FF games.

And that's the reason why I won't be getting it for the PS3. If it was a pre-X game, I'd be all over it.

Just because you don't have a handheld and don't like them doesn't mean other people don't. Your life isn't a universal law. Leave that to Havoc.

Hah! I have no good response for that :P

I was just saying that I see no reason to get a game I already beat on a big screen. Tiny screens suck.

Edit: To clarify, I don't see FFX being the right choice for this. I'd assume that most "newer" FF players began with FFX, so they won't be expanding their fanbase. It's also a pretty recent game, so I can't see people being nostalgic for it yet. All this seems like to me a money grab attempt that will fail miserably and further crush the chances of getting a true remake of the older Final Fantasy games.

Honestly, I don't think they'll have to sell too many copies for a FFX remaster to make money.  Even if it sells a quarter of what FF games usually sell, and at 30-40 dollars, I bet it will still make SE money.

You will not get a PSX remaster imo ever.  It will cost SE a boat load more money to port and remaster one of them and will imo not sell that much better then FFX.  The whole point of a remaster is a money grab, do you really think they would waste time and money on a brake even affair.  FFX is already pretty good gfx wise, so it will not really cost them much to remaster.  Even if this fails for them they are unlikely to lose money.  FF7 is more of a risk, FF10 is not.

Also with something like FF7 they have to worry about changing too much or not enough, and they would probably get raged on no matter what.

You seem to be forgetting that most of these 'new' players would have probably been 4 or 5 when they first played X, and thus would massively nostalgiafag over it now.

The biggest reason we won't get the old FF's remakes or remasters:

Well at least you can play FF7/FF8 PC versions with high res texture mods and such...at least all the mods make it an improvement over the console versions  :P
