Does anyone know where it stores the graphics settings? I installed it and set it to the wrong resolution as a result I couldn't set it back on account of my monitor not displaying anything. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game to no avail, I have uninstalled the game and run CCleaner over pretty much everything in an attempt to delete those last remains that keep me from getting to that delicious cake. The resolution remains stuck at something my LCD refuses to handle.
I'm using a non-Steam version btw.

while it's installed you could just edit the config file which would normally be located either in the games file location (aka where it was installed to) or under something like "C:\Users\whatever you're user name is\Documents\My Games" or whatever you have that's closest to that.
if it's uninstalled and you just wanna clean up the remains to fresh install then just find the game's folder->delete it, look it see if portal has an entry in "My Games" and delete that.
You could also just run a search for "Portal"
This is all assuming you're using windows ofc...
you could also just try updating your video card's driver since it may have a higher resolution compatability

I'm pretty sure there is a command line you can set that will reset the settings. Or you can use -w to set it to windowed until you change the settings.
