Essential apps that you can't remember without looking at them.

There is the essence of all smartphones, right there.   ;D

Lol, true that, true that ;D

All these years of partying has made me a bit forgetful though. That's why I have a smartphone  :P

Just bought myself a dumbphone. Take that bitches!

No, but seriously, it is hard nowadays to find phones that are not giant flat bricks with huge touch screens and OS akin to the ones you use on your fucking desktop.

So my story is this, my old Nokia that is like 6 years old is finally giving up. I have to yell into my phone so that people will hear me and I can't hear a damned shit myself. The speaker on the phone is also blown somehow (could be that nasty tune I ran on max volume to annoy colleagues). Also it makes rattling noise inside when I shake it, some loose parts perhaps. So since the basic and the only function I need in a phone is failing: that is to actually call people instead of dicking around with a touch screen, I have decided to buy a new one. Took me a while to find something decent too, my friend recommended me one of those nice looking Sony Ericson phones, but I hate the inteface on them, so I went ahead and bought myself a trusty Nokia again. Nokia X3 -2.5 to be exact, nice looking, good size and shape, has buttons, has touch screen (very unnecessary bonus, but oh well...) and has a cool dark gunmetal colour.

I hope it will last for a while, because I have a bad feeling that we will only have faggy iPhones and their clones in the future.

Yeah iPhones suck, their interface makes me :(

Some Android and Windows phones can do some pretty useful stuff. However, when they're so big you can't fit them in your back pocket, something is wrong.

It does look pretty cool, actually. The phone I was using until I switched to the N8-00 about a year ago was the 6301, which isn't bad-looking and is ridiculously durable. I think I'd prefer the X3 over it though.

Believe it or not, "dumbphones" (proper term is "feature phones" apparently) still make up the majority of cell phone sales today. It's just that the majority of these sales happen in developing countries. The number one industry using basic embedded processors is feature phones sold in places like Africa, where they use phones akin to the ones we used about 15 years ago - 1" monochrome screen, etc. So don't lose out on hope too quickly, man. There's always eBay as a last resort, too.

Note that there is a difference between X3 and X3-2.5 which I will soon have. The first one is a sliding design, the latter one looks looks like this.

But yeah, in Norway it seems the demand is so high for smartphones, that all other ones are all but disappeared from the market. Either way, I am set for another few years.
