I don't think you understand it but he isn't hiding his ability without reason

He explained it. Many people would like to have that ability. And also he would be forced to join some guilds or smth else. I think he made the best choice. He couldn't act better when he is a solo player

I also think it has to do with people being able to plan against him since he lacks defense. If they knew he was a purely offensive player he could be countered easy.

Now that you say it.. Maybe the leader of Asuna's guild thought about it and considered Kirito's specialties before offering the duel.

And real, what kind of an idiot would like to duel against the guy who soloed the boss??? Only the kind which is enormously strong. I believe he will give a tough time to Kirito. He just can't possibly be weak. Let's remember that he's the leader of the strongest guild. He might even have a higher level than Kirito. And who knows? Maybe that guy soloed a boss himself?!??!?!?

Although Kirito is powerful, he also has plenty vulnerabilities. notably his defense ability being minimal.

Are you commenting or quoting for the sake of quoting ?

Oh wow, that post I made yesterday, I was in a hurry and had no idea it turned into something...else...

...but yeah, I'm hoping that people who die in SAO are not dead irl, but left in a continued coma state so when the frontliners beat all 100 lvls in SAO everyone wakes up...happy ending I'm counting on you!

I believe you won't get that kind of happy ending. It would be kind of meh tbh. To get a masterpiece you usually need to suffer many losses. I dunno. We'll see.

Meh, it's a great show but I don't find that its strongest points are relevant to mmo players exclusively. There is barely anything that only mmo fans will get, everything is thoroughly explained. Although it'd be quite understandable how pretty much any mmo player would dig it, then dream about such a game.

I'm guessing on this. He should be able to put up a good challenge at least.

Indeed, the only MMO I've ever really played (excluding Runescape wayyyyy back when I was a kid) is Eve Online, which is totally different to this kind of generic WoW-style MMO, and I'm quite enjoying this series. The actual MMO mechanics are pretty coherent, and it works quite well. I can imagine regular MMO players would enjoy it even more though.

Also, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks that Sackii. There've been times when I've responded to one of his posts (I sometimes get irritated by the more condescending ones), only to be told off by other people for wasting a post on something so obvious...

Well, I was very curious about this duel (coz it smelled super fishy to me), I got to the SAO wikia. Unfortunately, info about the duel was super close to the rest of it and since I don't need to focus on a word to read it (I mean, with easy to understand stuff, I just need a look at a wall of text to get a hang on what's it about and some key info) I accidentaly "read" pretty much everything.

Damn feels bad then, I guess you did spoil yourself so the only thing left is to see it all happen now.

Stay strong!

Heh. Wouldn't expect the duel to be over that fast, nor for Kirito to lose :b Wasn't really that surprising though.

It smelled fishy from the moment Kuradeel showed up, that sick bastard...

And hoo boy: the ship finally set sail~

All I have to say is this

" Even though the focus of the show is about the players in the game SAO after being trapped in there for two years  wouldn't there be some kind of effort into breaking the players out from the outside. I know the show's creator wanted to avoid becoming another "dot hack" but still its funny how the outside world is just letting them stay trapped inside the game without any attempt at rescue. If my loved ones were trapped in the virtual world.....lets just say "Ghost in the Shell" has nothing on the cyber-diving crap that I would be inventing to help them.
To take it all, drag it down to Earth, make it yours, and surpass it. That is the path of those who dare to challenge God.

Holy shit!
He did it!

I expect Nodame to come here crying with joy when she watches this episode in the morning :D

I knew he would, but didn't know he would do it now. Well it was to be expected with all the things that did happen between them.

Disconnecting the players from the nerve gear will kill them, or you didn't actually watch from the start ?
Unless you are one of those people that fast forward through the episodes?
Pay attention to the story instead of saying silly stuff that was already explained.

The game designer said that the only way to get out of this world is to clear the game, removing the nerve gear before that happens will kill the wearer, hacking cannot occur because the system is secured from it, they would have to disconnect the user from the server, and that too would kill the user. You are not paying any attention at all.
