Why watch the dub when the BDs are already out

Nifty Toonami is airing SAO starting tonight.
The dub is not so bad as expected... it is just awful.
Klein doesn't sound normal for his char at all, not to mention the scream in the end of the episode.
I attached LtN's version to the BDrip for those who want to give it a try.

Yeah I don't think Kirito's VA matches his character.

What? ... Why are you reading this? Sword Art Online: Extra Edition. Nothing too fancy, but worth it!

Huge fan of SAO, it was my first look into 'serious' anime. Absolutely LOVE this series!  I don't like the way they did ALO though, it got way too rushed at the end. Excited about Extra Edition, what are they going to show? GGO? Side stories?

It's going to be a compilation of what has already been shown and will include some (but not all) new footage.
Memories are meant to fade. They're designed that way for a reason.

I wouldn't call sao a "serious anime"

I agree that they should've spent the whole first season on aincrad and done another 24 ep season for alo considering they skipped entire sections of the novel.

It started out serious. It started out as potentially a pretty dark piece of work, and there are some moments peppered in there. But mostly, it turns into a childlike romance/wish-fulfillment fantasy. And that fantasy becomes the sun and the moon of the series. I suppose that's why I didn't enjoy it perhaps as much as other people did. Though I did enjoy it.

I just wished that the first part of SAO wasn't so rushed through... I coulda watched 10 seasons of that easy.. Buuut no, they only did like half the first season on it.. I dno, something about the in-escapability of SAO and perma death kinda did something for me.

Super excited for Extra Edition, even though it's just a special. Guesses on what it's going to show apart from a recap?

That was what appealed to me as well. Does the future novels even delve into those problems?

We are getting a fighting game with Asuna in it.
Sega is making an anniversary game with characters from their IPs and from the light novel publishing company Dengeki Bunko.
The short clip currently available shows Asuna (with assists from Lyfa) fighting against Shana (from Shakugan no Shana).
Other that those Valkyria Chronicles have also been confirmed and we can probably expect another 20 characters or so.
