Interesting, I think I understand Shinonome-san's plan, that is, if I'm not overestimating her.
By pointing out the dysfunctions of the current situation about clubs she probably plans on everyone affected by that to stand up, however her other point about discrimination will likely be ignored by other candidates because the biggest problem to most people will be funds. That way she can turn down every opponent and grab a lot of voters because she wants to fix majority of the school's problems, however she seems to be putting a lot of hopes on our little club because no one else dared to point that out.
Discrimination and bullying is a serious problem and not in every school. Discrimination and bullying become problems in schools with too much freedom. their school has a lot of freedom for students, and the amount and scale of bullying is disastrous. She plans on forcing students to change their way, but if everyone will only use budget and clubs as arguments, she will win. One way or another, she wins.
Now that he knows what's going on, he can take up the challange, however the one that helps them, doesn't seem concerned about the issue.
That explains why Shinonome-san has eyes wide open, and he has his eyes closed. Now I have to figure out the guy that walks around masked. He's probably fake or something like that.
This proves he has a bit of a talent, he can see peoples true self, the fact that he thinks the scholarship (Aono wasn't it ?) smells nice is because of her honest and hard working personality, she is a girl you can spend a pleasant time with, talking or whatever, she is a nice girl. And that is her mask only he sees.
You can definitely see other people on campus with their "masks", and everything will eventually focus on that.
On a side note, what those girls did was horrible, that fact that she didn't ran away just like that is admirable and further proves my point about her, this is exactly why I was interested in her ever since they mentioned her in the first episode.
At this point I wish he would hook up with her, but he will likely hook up with the girl they showed in this show first, after all, it's the first girl rule in this show (like in 95% of anime)
He has a very interesting gift, and I think all the teachers know about the bullying, but the school status prevents them from acting.
Shinonome-san knows what has to be done, if she wins, she will do what she said in the manifest, but of someone else will pick up the challenge, she will have to go a very hard way through her new good friend.
This is turning to be a very interesting story.

^ I agree with you, mostly anyways, but about the bulluing issue... Have you ever been driven into corner with 5 people in front of you? I think she didn't run away becuase she was unable to. I myself was able to escape those situations with brute force, most of the times. I have had to dig up my stuff from garbage can and have been in detention because satnding up against bullies and watch while the bullies just get away with it. Really, makes me mad.
but also, if the freedom is controlled, it is good.
In myschool, our stundent counsil did its job :D but it was rather corrupted, why? because me and my pal were in it xD took the chanse to turn profit. But enough of freedom xD it is double edged blade.
But well, I think, they should be more awere of the bullying and discrimination in schools, as well as the people who vandalise property.
and well, Shinonome does point out many things, but she is too strict.
I wouldn't ammidiately cut budjects, I would do it via hearing and hear reason why they shouldn't be cut.
...not that it would change my opinion.
and I think that discontinuing the financial aid system isn't the right choise. I would fortify the system.
and everyone has their masks, thet is common sense. People never are what they look like.
and just becuase teachers ''can't act'' doesn't mean they shouldn't, even if they can't act dirrectly, they could act via the student counsil, so that is just lack of will because all the goody-goody-wishy-washy bastard who aren't affected by the bullying don't care. As long as everything is well for them all is good.
