that's another stereotype thats extremely annoying, which is based entirely on the culture, environment, and individual people, not the paper. I love philosophy and i've never smoked anything or done drugs in my life.

We stereotype everything based on individuals we meet. It's natural and it's mostly useful.
It's kind of a common joke, I agree. But out of the 5 phi majors I personally know, three of them do that. And out of the five, those three have the better grades.

its true stereotypes aren't stereotypes for no reason, but that's exactly why they piss me off. because people that try to make themselves different from them always get caught up in them

However, we are not dealing with you. We are dealing with phi majors.
When we will, your individual personality and tastes will be taken into the count. But before then, it's simply a waste of effort to even consider it, at least as long as we are speaking about groups. If you manage to change the whole group, the stereotype will follow in due time.
On a remark that you said earlier, that I'm too lazy to find and quote. "You said that everyone was average". Don't you have any competitive rivalry to "one up" the guy next to you in your classes?
abc cuz:
i'm not saying everyone is average, just the majority of people are average because if you 'one up' the guy in your class, then they'll want to one up you, and if everyone does it it'll raise the average level, thus still being a majority average.
also, i'm taking jsut as many philosophy papers as i am my majors so i kind of does include me (i want to triple major but i'm not sure if that's possible, but i can see that a degree in philosophy can't really go anywhere (anywhere thats obvious anyway, im sure it can still lead into some jobs) which is why i'm just taking it for fun at the moment
Nikkoru:
Seems kinda logical that the majority of people are average.
See, that's me using my ej'u'cation.
