How to play hi10p videos on single core cpu

... You'd be surprised at how much more power an old single core draws and how much more heat it releases than a modern multi-core CPU, as long as we are sticking with Intel and not bringing in AMD's power-hungry processors.

I would strongly recommend Format Factory. Handbrake gives you more control but it takes quite a bit of fiddling to convert your library (I still can't get the mass conversion in handbrake to work properly! So i'm stuck converting them one by one).
Format Factory has a ton of presets (I recommend going to the mobile section and picking the iPod profile if you've got a low end PC, it's low resolution baseline so should work anywhere), pick one or set your own profile, set which soundtrack or subtitle you want it to use, and drag the entire folder into the file list box. If you set it to use Subtitle Index 0, which usually means the first subtitle it's got embedded in a file, every MKV you've dragged into it, will have their first subtitles burned in without needing to set them individually. Handy if you're converting anime by the dozens. Like say, the hundred or so episodes of Gundam Seed.

Wait, you mean CoreAVC's CUDA is not effective? ...

My old single core Intel processor was dispensing enough heat out of the case ... I had to close all my vents in my room in the winter time and enjoy the free heat out of the case.

nope, not at all, 1080p 10bit wips my E3300 to 100%, 1080p 8bit stays 65% using cuda.
though 100% smooth, so i'm still happy even though its sad... ok i just said something weird.

I made a post on an alternate to CCCP here:

Still uses MPC-HC. My system is barely more powerful than yours. The problem being your CPU is Celeron. The graphics card has no effect on Hi10P/10-bit encode. It's all about your CPU and the software you use for playback.
I gained substantial extra playback capacity with the configuration listed in that post. No, I can only rarely play back 1080 encodes, but I can play a hell of a lot of 720 encodes, and pretty much all 10-bit.
Keep in mind that the individual encode has some variation depending on settings used by the encoder ... so definitely try a few different 8-bit & 10-bit encodes. Some will fail, others might not.
