I made a post on an alternate to CCCP here:

Still uses MPC-HC.  My system is barely more powerful than yours.  The problem being your CPU is Celeron.  The graphics card has no effect on Hi10P/10-bit encode.  It's all about your CPU and the software you use for playback.

I gained substantial extra playback capacity with the configuration listed in that post.  No, I can only rarely play back 1080 encodes, but I can play a hell of a lot of 720 encodes, and pretty much all 10-bit.

Keep in mind that the individual encode has some variation depending on settings used by the encoder ... so definitely try a few different 8-bit & 10-bit encodes.  Some will fail, others might not.

... Wow ... That processor ... is ... D:

Edit -- I've basically gotten rid of CoreAVC and the custom FFDShow (was it?) since the latest installment of CCCP. I play 10-bit 1080p videos just fine - no stutters, delays, etc. Plays smoothly.

^i beg to differ, celeron isn't such a bad name anymore, since the introduction of [wolfdale] celeron E3xxx and [sandy-bridge] celeron G5xx they've been quite a favorable option i might say.
