10-bit and 8-bit the new standard?

Ok, first of all, excuse me if I've posted this in the wrong forum. I thought about puting it under issues (as it is one for me) but then its not really an issue either, more of a question, and then I though about posting it in the general discussions forum... but I've only seen this format being used in the anime-fansub part :P
Anyhow, is the 10-bit and 8-bit (and all of their different types like 10Hibit) be the new standard? Im just wondering as for me this will be a problem, Im wathing my anime on my TV using a streamer, that appearently dont support this.. not fully atleast as I get somekind of aftermovments of pixels.. or what I should call it.
For me that havent really read about this format I dont really know what its good for either? I've heard its for a little smaller file-size, is that the only thing? 'cause the quality is still the same for what I feel.

and for 8 vs 10, google for it, full scale war is going 8b fan boys vs 10b fan girls(genders where chosen random).
I personally don't see difference, apart file size, and I don't really care for file size.

Then I guess Im starting to get way to old for this.. I prefer the "usual" format. example.... The "new" releases of Berserk is really tempting.. in 720p aswell, but what does it matter as I can't see them on my TV due to both the releases are either 10 or 8-bit.

thats gonna be years of waiting, its been already months since hi10p/10bit became widely used and theres still no news about it being supported by hardwares.
the main difference with 8bit and 10bit is that:
8bit = introduces banding when bitrate starved.
10bit = introduces a marginally less banding when bitrate starved, plus has a higher compression ratio than the 8bit.
everybody knows that the common fault of 8bit is when the bitrate is starved theres a ridiculous amount of hideous banding thats gonna be present.

I would not consider it highly used, Yes in the anime community its highly used but outside of that nope and its a niche market going for the anime crowd as a lot of them are to young to buy new components, Some of the hardware players do support some 10bit files the nixeus xs, ac velo, any of the current arm players will play them but not 100% correct some of them do have some artifacts but are watchable, With the FXI cottoncandy stick and other higher end arm chips with the mali gpu could mean some small players For us non PC watchers after some decent ARM ports come in.
