Soo How About That Armoured Core V ?
« on: March 10, 2012, 03:28:38 AM »
Just wondering if I'm the only one exited for the release and if anyone would care to team up? Apparently a team can be 20 pilot strong though 4 pilots and 1 operator Vs is the maximum game size.

It would be cool with a BakaBT team : ) , I'm on PS3 anyone else?

Some youtube vids

Customization options

Operator View Please ignore the horrible acting

Sneaky Combat with operators way points

Pushing the limits of Decals/Emblems Creepy voice included

8 player Free for all

I'm 100x more excited for MechWarrior Online.

Check it out if you're into less arcadey mech games.

FUCK YEAH GIANT ROBOT DESTRUCTION
that being said I didn't know a new armored core was coming out....and I don't really care, AC is mediocre at best imo, I'll probably pick it up a year from now once it costs $10, play it for 2 days and then never play it again....just like every other AC game I've ever played.

First off, before I go on my rant... chem.x, I will be playing it on PS3 too when it comes out in the States! We'll form our own clan!

And FUCK YEAH GIANT ROBOT DESTRUCTION. It's ok if you don't care about the game, cause other Armored Core games WERE mediocre too! They were god awfully predictable and repetitive. The difference with this game though (if you kept up with it) is that the multiplayer very much resembles Chromehounds. A team of 4 players and one operator (who's like the commander in Chromehounds but isn't in a Hound himself/herself) attack objectives in the enemy base. If you win, you gain that territory and then you get to place defences so when an opposing team comes to attack, you'll be better prepared.

As for single player, it could still be the boring affair to grind the good parts/upgrades/learn the game mechanics of each type of mech.

And yes, I'm VERY much looking forward to MechWarriors Online :P

haha we as you and me or we as you and your homeboyz?

Its good to know there are more AC fans here = ) the new operator + pilot setup seems really interesting and fun I love co-op especially in a competitive setting, PvP is win or lose were its at : )

I'm also always a sucker for customization and this game have an crazy amount of that. On top of that, there's a reward system for higher ranking clans getting access to more stuff and even more space for configured ACs in your garage .. hehe

Never played any of the AC games. I've never owned any Sony systems, so there's that.

MWOnline does look pretty sweet, the interface looks as I was hoping, maybe a bit less complex then anticipated...

Front Mission: Evolved is a Mech game I enjoyed a bit, it was good for fucking around on. The third person didn't really do it for me, but there were few other major flaws imho.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

Well what I really like about AC-games is the customization depth and mix of tactical and frantic game play its almost an fighter mixed with a shooter and how can you not love that  8) and now with the added operator/commander position it looks to become a team oriented game which falls in to my yard as well

Only 7 days left to release here in EU itching to get my hands on.

Fighter/shooter? I just like using big giant robots to blow up other big giant robots! Ever since Mechwarriors 3! Hell, my favorite anime series are almost all mech genre! (Code Geass, Gundam (all of them), and Eva)

To me the boost system that allow dodging is basically a fighting game move and its pretty high paced compared to mechwarrior for instance, yeah I have a real soft spot for mecha but I'm more a fan of the real robot style with Armored Trooper Votoms and Patlabor as my crown jewels but on the other hand I loved Eureka 7 though that might be called real robot too, although the surf on air currents : )

I guess the more robotic the mechs the happier I am  8)

Patlabor is great, but they never really had the destructive power as say... Gundam X with it's Lunar Cannon or Wing Zero's "Zero" System or hell... if Division 2 had even HALF of Zaku, they would get more shit done.

Though I will agree, slow lumber mechs are WAY cooler than the fast/maneuverable ones. That's why ACV is gonna tide me over until MechWarriors Online comes out.

Yeah but I can't say that I don't enjoy fast passed Mech, its just that I'm more for the realistic approach when concerning weapons and such vs blowing up half the city though that's fun to I guess its all good  ;D The patlabor series is really Epic in lack of a longer sentence I just love the humour, characters, and the mech design, and that it's more an detective story more often then full on action.

On a nother note just placed my order on AC V can't wait until TGIF... haha

The Merc system seems intriguing, I wonder how much cash you get paid by other players if its a set amount or if you request / accept a sum. I hope it makes for a lot of full 4+1 vs games  8)

You in Europe? I get the game tomorrow! I'll be getting it but sadly only playing maybe an hour of it cause my girlfriend will be over. I hope she likes it and plays it with me as well! :)

No, no, no... we'll probably just trade off with the controller. She isn't a gamer or anything and doesn't have a PS3.

I'll definitely write some impressions though! I've played Chromehounds and most of the MechWarrior series. I sadly have not played any of the AC games though. This will be my first.
