Thinking about returning to Japan.

(1/2) > >>

Sagara:
I've studied for 6 months in Japan in 2010 and then I for various reasons got quite mad with a teacher and some fellow students and decieded to leave Japan and the school to return to my homeland Sweden. (I'm not the person who easily get's upset)

I've come to regret this desicion quite alot, seeing as the time I spent in Japan (aside from the trouble mentioned earlier) was the most happy time in my life. Thus I'm planning to return eventually, once I've managed my student debt and such.

Now, I'm woundering if I should continue my study in Japanese or if I should go for an Au-pair visit, maybe even try and get a real job however hard it may be. (I know of alien registration card and such.)

What do you guys think? I've never felt as relieved or as happy as when I was there, being around people that I barely knew yet loved. My goal is to get "stuck" there with a job, but I know that I'm quite rusty at Japanese and such, therefore a study/au-pair might be best. All advice will be sincerly apreciated.

What were you studying to become while you were there? I think that probably plays a pretty huge role in it all, depending on demand or ect. Another thing to think about is getting a job where you'd live there but work for a Swedish, for example, company. I know quite a few people that have had luck living in different countries when doing something similar to that.

Of course, this all depends on your willingness to potentially be shit broke for a long time due to a, potentially, low paying job. And again, hating your job is always a possibility.

Just my thoughts.

As I said, any advide is appreciated  :) thanks for the reply!
What I was studying was Japanese, my lifelong goal is to become a teacher. One of my few strong points is that I learn languages fairly easily by just listening, even though I'm hard of hearing.
My English is pretty much fluent except when I get a brainfreeze, thus I'd like to become an English teacher in Japan one day or perhaps if someone asks for it a Swedish tutor.

My demands are quite low, I've lived a relatively poor life (not neglected, just that i've had it tough with money). Therefore I'm used to and not oposite to living in a cramped and/or "uncomfortable" space. I'd take basicly any job I'd find as a temporary job or, well anything.

My willingness is basicly limitless, I've had my share of "crap" jobs before and I realize that the Japanese market is alot different from western but I'm a sturdy fellow and not afraid to rough myself up abit for the potential of becomming something bigger  :) I'm an educated welder you see.

Thanks for taking the time to reply here, greatly appreciated!

just do it! you could always fly back to sweden imho.

What qualifications do you have? If you've been to university (ie. have a degree), then JET seems like the obvious thing to try (assuming you can apply in Sweden). 3 years in japan, good salary, and lots of teaching experience. Definitely worth looking into, at least.
