TERA

Nikkoru:
It does seem pretty obvious without even worrying about the clothes/armour they wear, the existence of a fox/cat/bunny girl race is clear indication what the game is going to be like.

I agree with blog's argument, that if they're going to make armour in a fantasy game it shouldn't look like it was designed by Victoria's Secret - especially when the male characters look like walking tanks.

For example

Looking at the male/female designs in TERA, there isn't a single female character who doesn't look like she's about to fall out of her clothes while many of the men look like they'd need the jaws of life to get out of their's.

It's actually kind of depressing.

This isn't a problem unique to Tera.  It's a problem in all games nowadays.

It's also one of the reasons I loved Dark Souls so fucking much.  I made a female in that game and when I wore full armor you couldn't tell.  There was no retarded breast-shaped chest piece, no flesh showing between the body and feet, and you couldn't even see her face.

I wish more games handled female armor like Dark Souls did.

elvikun:
Well, it's more games ... Warhammer is pretty ... equal to genders. Aion used to be, as far as heavy armor goes. Not sure how's it looking now. WoW offers equally ugly armor for everyone too. Guild wars. Lineage. Kingdoms of Amalur. There's a lot of it. You just have to pick your battles right, what you're showing right here is pretty close to comming to strip bar and complaining about the lack of clothing.

The point was tho, how the hell makes a square of coth places over chest, belly and butt make it more practical?
Plus, why the heck would anyone want that in game which is revolving around the forementioned.

Nikkoru:
I think armour is pretty secondary here, the fact that female TERA characters have bodies that could put Jessica Rabbit to shame is the crux of the matter. Even when naked, characters in games like Skyrim and Dark Souls are not playboy playmates.

It just reinforces the fact that developers think that gamers are overwhelmingly immature men.

Or maybe it's designers are immature men?   ;D
