One would have thought that with all the customization options available in the MMO genera, that making a character to suit your taste and having armour available to go along with it isn't too much to ask at this point. If you want to build a sex bunny, that's fine, but the options should be for the individual players.

For what it's worth, I'm repulsed by games with skimpy female armour too. Why the discrimination and double standards? I reckon the males should be decked in thongs as well. :P
I have many female friends who play mmorpg's. Not a single one of them complain about the skanky outfits. Take Rift for example. One of the few games that tries to cover up female characters, relatively speaking... The minute they introduced an appearance tab in that game, all the females in my guild instantly ditched the plate and chainmails for frilly lingerie like garb that reveal plenty of skin. The favourite look amongst them, I can best describe as a dishy barmaid. Anyone who's played Rift will know the look. It's the rogue starter top plus hot pants with thigh high boots :P

It's interesting how everyone can go on and on about the appearances (BUT it's true, it costs atmosphere).
I play the beta and I love the possibility to fight elite monsters solo with a warrior(!) on the same level. The only other MMORPGs I played were WoW and a bit of Aion, WarOnline. No need to think of fighting elite mobs there as a melee.
If I wanted to play a male characters from the races with choices it'd be either human or amani. Castanic and high elf simply look gay or to be more neutral, metro sexual... >_>
And about the Elin, if anyone hates them, play on a PVP server and hunt them. Personally, I don't care about them. All I need to know is that they are to be old forests spirits, that's all. I will neither play one nor deal with them other than having some in a random party.

Actually, I have said that half of MMO player are horny teenagers, and a lot of other people still like to see what they consider appealing, so it's natural for the companies to oblige with revealing outfits. Slight difference there.
Either way, haven't played Rift for long, but yeah, complex armor customisation is indeed quite rare, on the other hand, so is character one. As long as people pay and are somewhat quiet everything's good I guess.
But sure, granted, there could be more of the realistic games, on the other hand, I still think it's kind of out of line to complain about skimpy outfits in game which is basically all about skimpyness.

Slightly off topic, but I cant say if the over-all population in MMOs are teenagers, but if you talk about endgame raid stuff it tends to be old folks.
