Apparently if you get your hands on the K-client, you can override the NA censoring. Just switch the files.

I have not decided if I am going to pre-order it or not yet since in my experience, when you jump on a game like this when it first comes out there are still a handful of kinds to work out, but meh... I will likely end up buying the game anyway.

The westernization is not quite as bad as I had expected with a few exceptions with certain armor schemes, but it appears you can get costumes so you dont have to see some of the rather ugly outfits.

The only race that is censored is the elin. If you go to http://tera-mods.blogspot.fr/ you can get find the mod to remove the censoring. If you want the most recent version look in the comments under the elin mod someone uploaded a more recent version of the korean elin files. The rest of the races look the same so unless you feel like adding the npples back to characters from the earlier closed korean beta I wouldnt bother with it. Its not that hard to switch the elin files I have been using them for my priest. Anyone that hasnt tried the open beta yet today is the last day. Game is pretty fun. Espically if you like grouping its kinda fun to just group with poeple can farm the bams for awhile on a repeatable or something.

Why are you guys dwelling on the appearance of the characters? Sure, the armor is impractical and... non-existant and the elin look as creepy as the ones who "admire" them.
But, the appearance of the characters are so easy to ignore. You roll a different character that does not expose over half their skin, or you play the character and wear armor that covers you up to a satisfactory amount. Then the only way you'll ever see "skanky" armor is when you have to interact with people who have characters that do wear "skanky" armor. Even then, camera angles and a sufficiently long camera distance will prevent you from seeing anything that would appeal to anyone's pruprient interests.
So why dwell on this point, when there are larger issues with the game? Why not give the game a chance on its other features, instead of discarding it for some minor feature that can be completely ignored?

People who say things like "only horny teenagers and 30 yr old virgins play female characters exposing skin", you have no idea how silly you make yourself look, it's basically saying "sex appeal only works on males between 16 and 30 yrs of age that have never experienced intimacy with the fairer gender".

In any case, the game is fun but I'm still leaning towards guild wars. In terms of features, i believe gw2's long list of dotpoints on "new" features adds to an mmo as much as tera's combat system. However, I trust GW2's developer more for future content whereas tera's developer are less inclined to communicate with their foreign players. GW2's developers tried harder to innovate, whereas tera's combat system has already been done in earlier korean games like vindictus, dragon nest and monster hunter.

If any other race could be a cat-girl then I would not play an Elin. Also, chill the fuck out. For all the shit you talk about over-looking the armor and not dwelling on appearance, you sure get hung up on other peoples toons (or more to the point, the people who play them (which is even more lol))

Proin Drakenzol:
I started playing TERA with one of the guys in my class. It's interesting, the combat system is fun, but I'm not even 20 yet so I'm in the doldrums I guess. I'm playing an Elin mystic.

I still prefer RIFT, though, I like the customization a lot.
