Why are you guys dwelling on the appearance of the characters? Sure, the armor is impractical and... non-existant and the elin look as creepy as the ones who "admire" them.
But, the appearance of the characters are so easy to ignore. You roll a different character that does not expose over half their skin, or you play the character and wear armor that covers you up to a satisfactory amount. Then the only way you'll ever see "skanky" armor is when you have to interact with people who have characters that do wear "skanky" armor. Even then, camera angles and a sufficiently long camera distance will prevent you from seeing anything that would appeal to anyone's pruprient interests.
So why dwell on this point, when there are larger issues with the game? Why not give the game a chance on its other features, instead of discarding it for some minor feature that can be completely ignored?
People who say things like "only horny teenagers and 30 yr old virgins play female characters exposing skin", you have no idea how silly you make yourself look, it's basically saying "sex appeal only works on males between 16 and 30 yrs of age that have never experienced intimacy with the fairer gender".
In any case, the game is fun but I'm still leaning towards guild wars. In terms of features, i believe gw2's long list of dotpoints on "new" features adds to an mmo as much as tera's combat system. However, I trust GW2's developer more for future content whereas tera's developer are less inclined to communicate with their foreign players. GW2's developers tried harder to innovate, whereas tera's combat system has already been done in earlier korean games like vindictus, dragon nest and monster hunter.
