Any opinions on the matter?
kitamesume:
uhhh... "its about time?"
though
’648 patent, “World modeling using a relationship network with communication channels to entities.” Granted 2010.
’509 patent, “Online playback system with community bias. Granted 2008.
this is what facebook is all about, wouldn't that mean yahoo is saying "facebook" is a yahoo ripoff? which clearly is not.
vuzedome:
Copyright trolls everywhere.
Have you guys read about The Hobbit issue?
Man they are getting out of control.
AceHigh:
Following that logic if I patent my idea about building a colony on Mars, then I can just wait until someone else realises my idea, so I can sue them for millions?
Seriously though, everyone has fucking ideas, suing other people that had same ideas, but actually put them to work makes you look nothing but a butthurt chump.
Bob2004:
Half of those patents were only granted in the last few years, long after Facebook got going. I really don't see how they can claim Facebook copied them when it did it first.
EDIT: The same way Hollywood can claim that the Hobbit Pub, which has stood in Southampton for over twenty years, somehow managed to copy their film, which isn't even released yet, I suppose.
Then again, patent, copyright, and intellectual property law rarely ever seems to make much sense, so I'm sure there is a way they could claim that.
