Just finished watching Claymore...
FlyinPenguin:
I really enjoyed Claymore. I've Googled in the past for info about a sequel and the general consensus seems to be that the anime ending deviated too far from the manga to to continue with another season. That's quite disappointing because I would really like a second season.
I haven't read the manga so I'm not 100% sure how the anime and manga differ but I imagine it would take some really creative writing to merge the current path of the anime with the path of the manga. Without giving away any spoilers, can anyone see a way that would be possible? If the anime ending didn't happen at all, I'm assuming that certain characters who died in the anime are still alive in the manga.

The key difference between anime and manga is what happened with Raki, Priscilla and Claire at the end of the anime. (click to show/hide)In the manga they never met Claire and gang at that final encounter when Claire awakened. So no battle took place between Claire and Priscilla.
Up to around episode 23 or 24, the anime is largely faithful. But the anime had to engineer the final encounter in to bring closure to the series.
I suppose they could possibly retcon the anime ending to fit back into the manga story but it will take a lot of twisting. Certain key characters probably need to develop amnesia or something convenient like that. :P

The easiest way to do it is just to remake the series like FMA:Brotherhood.
Claymore is a monthly manga like FMA was so it's similar there. Not to mention the manga was still ongoing while they aired FMA:Brotherhood so they could do the same with claymore. I have a feeling the claymore manga is coming to an end in around 20 chapters ( Which is about 2 years :'( ), so we're still a minimum of 3 years before any mention of a new claymore anime ( If they even bother )
FlyinPenguin:
As a fan, I would like a remake like they did with FMA but does Claymore have enough of a fan base to justify it? I'm sure it made economic sense to remake FMA, but would it be worth it for Claymore?

Then I read the manga and figured how mediocre it actually is.
It's been a while since I saw the anime, so I can't remember for sure..
Except for the ending, isn't it quite faithful to the manga?
A full remake is a waste of time IMO.
Unlike FMA, it's only the ending that deviated from the original.
Instead, another way to start a second season can be something along the lines of..
"That was only wishful thinking, a dream. This is actually what heppened..."
With that said, however, I doubt we'll ever see more Claymore...
It's been too long of a break already..

So you're gonna go The Bold and the Beautiful way?
Exit to the last 2 episodes, start from there.
