Well, Key did say it will be faithful to the original story. The thing I want to know is exactly how will it be done. Will they only do Rin's route and refrain in 12 episodes? 25 episodes? Or will they do a split-season format for 50 episodes, a la Bakuman? The only thing I'm pretty sure about is that they won't do a single season 50 episode format, as the last time JC Staff did ANYTHING with more than 28 full-length episodes was Daa! Daa! Daa! in 2000-2002. And in fact, outside of Utena, that was the only time they did more than 28 episodes of a series.

The only problem with AB is that it was too short. Had they made it a 2-cour show, I think it would've been a lot better.
Tell me about it ... lol. It was a hell of a good anime. P.A.Works did a fantastic job.

Most of the reason of whats makes up the real story plot is tied up in all the routes.  If only the main route is used, it will really mess up it up.  At the same time they can not do a Suzumiya, people will lose it.

Well they'll think of something. We're just happy that it's going to get animated, but I doubt most will be expecting an epic show from it.

They will do a mix of all routes and pick the most popular girl for final choice.

I'll be honest I hated every single girl's route except for Rin and the Aneja girl. They should just do Rin 1 and 2 plus Refrain. Gawd I hate VNs that force you to capture every girl... But then again even if the other heroine stories are terrible they are kinda necessary to see the changes in Rin, her brother and Kendo guy.

To be honest I think they'll pull another Clannad, which they probably will do. Anyone who has read the VN should know what I'm talking about, not knocking it. Which I don't have a problem with, since like I said, not a fan of most of the girls in LB. But at least in Clannad they snuck in some arcs, it'll be interesting to see what they do with LB.

Trust me on one this, some of the heroine routes are just plain awful. The childish girl, Kud, the girl with the twin, and the bookworm did not have good stories. Well the bookworm's wasn't that bad compared to the others. *can't remember names* I did like the twin girl, I think her name was like Haruko/Haruka something like that, but I will not defend that route.

But Rin plus Refrain was worth all the suffering.

Also this was the first KEY VN I've ever read that had ecchi and nudity in it, it was kind of shocking.

So I guess this is the thread for this show huh..

Well.. I dunno what to say. First episode wasn't that great tbh =// I am not impressed.
But well. Since I loved every single anime by Key I have high hopes of this show as well.

Gotta see a few more episodes to have a certain opinion.

It... certainly hasn't grabbed me so far. It wasn't bad, not by a long shot, but it wasn't anything amazingly special either (though obviously it's only the first episode). It's Key, so I still have faith that it will be at least good, if it doesn't match the heights of Clannad and Kanon.

I think the main thing that put me off though is that it felt much more like a generic eroge kind of story. I didn't really get that vibe so much from Clannad, Kanon, or Air, even though, when you think about it logically, they're also quite generic in terms of setup. I dunno if it's just to do with the way it's been adapted so far, or if it's because it really is incredibly generic, but the first episode definitely felt that way. Hopefully it'll get a bit more unique and interesting soon.

Anyway, I have faith, and it could certainly still go anywhere at this early juncture, so I'm eagerly looking forward to episode two. :)

well, if the popularity of the VN is anything to go by, i'm sure this will turn out to be a great anime. i'll stick with it. unfortunately, this season, it's going up against some other great new shows like busou shinki for one.

I think it's safe to say that J.C. Staff delivered. Sure, the animation isn't breathtakingly awesome, but this is why I think many people simply had too much expectations. J.C. Staff is not KyoAni, nor can they ever hope of getting close to their awesomeness. If you keep that in mind, I think you'll enjoy it a lot more than if you sit down to look at every animation flaw you can find.

Anyway, the first episode looked good to me, so I hope this will convince (some) critics that their worries were (largely) unfounded.

Not sure if that was intended to be partly in response to my post, but if so - I wasn't commenting on the animation at all. In fact, I think they've done a pretty good job so far. Sure, it can't match a KyoAni show in terms of art and animation quality - but let's face it, not many can. It's not really a problem.

The show mad me think of what my home town was like when I was a little boy. High School Rumble! It wasn't gangs fighting like we have today, it was high school versus high school after the football/basketball games.

Most kids would stay in town after graduation, and some would leave the area, looking for a better life than working in the paper mills on the river.

I don't know, but I wonder if actual Japanese high schools are as seemingly tame as what ours are like today. And that this show is more like an historical document or something, rather than portraying life as most kids know it over there.

I liked it until we got that little story at the end that was so out of left field that even the music was totally different. But I guess it does fit, we did see that guy in the beginning, right? I'll be watching more. I wasn't really expecting a baseball show.

Would Junior Busters have been a better title than Little Busters? I'm expecting chibi or just plain elementary kids, which this isn't.
