Problem with PC?
Clannad_92:
hi all...
got some more problem(?)...
okay...when playing heavy game (Counter Strike Source/NFS Hot Pursuit 2010/PES 2012/etc), i can hear some sound coming from graphic card's AREA...im sure that is not the vibration sound...
explanation about above : when playing games (example: NFS HP2010[free driving]), i can hear the sound, but when minimize it, there is no sound...and sometimes i can smell something weird(although my sense of smell is affected by flu)
i want to know what is going on...
EDIT : my spec
Core i3 2100
ram 4gb
nvidia gt 440
mobo asus p8z68-vle

It's probably the fan. When you use a graphics intensive game the cards gets hotter and so the fan has to speed up to keep it cool. Even it's not the fan itself, it might just be a build up of dust or some other crap that's got stuck between the fans which is causing the noise. It could also explain the smell if it's not being cooled properly. When spinning, gently use a finger to slow down the fan and see if the noise disappears (don't do it for long though, just a second or two!) If it is the problem, just blow some air on it, or even go over with it a (dry) cloth very carefully when the PC is turned off if its particularly bad.
Other options include a cable rattling next to the card or another fan (processor fan for example). If it's liquid cooled, the pump could be causing the noise. It could also be (mildly) vibrating the motherboard, so make sure it's screwed down properly (but not too tight).

If your hardware is new, don't worry, it's just the plastic burning in, LOL.
After some time, the intensity of the smell should decrease, but will still be there.
As for sound? It's probably the fan whizzing around real fast. But if it's some other un-describable electronic sound..... then I don't know, you're fucked? I have no clue of what it will be.

Can you even buy that graphics card new still? o_O

You removed the seals on the graphic card? ... Well, you should be fine, otherwise your computer would have burnt down.
Like what Vuze said - your card is pushing hard to give you the performance your asking for when playing intensive graphic games. Tone down those graphics a tad if you want less noise from it - it is also good since you reduce power consumption and heat.
