Japanese P2P networks?
« on: April 04, 2012, 04:51:07 AM »
Hai guise ;D

I'm tired of fruitlessly trying to find content on torrents or shit Chinese sites :-\. And I just remembered that Japs have their own P2P networks, if I'm not lucky there then I'm fucked. My grasp of the language is quite... limited, so reading a comprehensive guide isn't going to be very pleasant (and it'll take me a good while :P).

Anyone uses them? Any recommendation, suggestions, anything? I'll try to find some English info/guides on them, but maybe someone has one or two useful hints, something to say or where to start. I remember when I started with torrents around... 8 years ago. I was such a noob (I learnt what ratio was when I got banned on my first tracker, never bothered to read anything xD)

What does "[sic]" mean? I don't think anyone got sick in the article so why is it in there? Should I start writing and post "[dump]" when I leave to go take a shit then return?

The keywords you should search for are PD and Share Ex2.

Beware though: They don't really count as anonymous and safe.

Also this has been brought up before, but generally it's a good idea not to call Japanese people "Japs"
It's not short form, that would be JPN people.

When life gives you lemons, you clone those lemons and make super lemons.

Perfect Dark and Share :P

Nice, that's what I wanted to know. Two questions. Which do you find better? (for more "obscure" stuff). I've read PD but opinions are divided it seems <_<

And of Share there's EX2 (that goes through TCP) and some other that uses UCP. Any reason to use either? Or it's the same?

I don't care about anonymity and safety... at least in this country where no one cares about anything and MUCH less for some P2P of JPN :P. Here you can see niggas selling pirated DVDs of whatever you like in every corner, music in every train/subway, stations, etc and no one ever cares. Well, someone cared once. But the niggas where dismissed in trial (I don't remember if they even got to one) because the quality of their DVDs was "too low" to be considered as a "threat" to original movies, and ppl "knew" what they are getting when they buy those DVDs for $5. After hearing that, and having an ISP made advertising about "no limitations" with P2P software (and they didn't lied ;D) you know this is no man's land (in piracy and every other aspect you name :-\)

Long time ago I think, there were "threats" to ppl uploading national music (and only national) in P2P. Scare tactics, I don't know if they ever got actually sued/fined, but the "move" died out after a while and I never heard of anything similar again (not that I consume anything national, so I'm not much into it)

Ah, yes. Some find it offensive (but I heard one saying he found it stupid to find it offensive :P). I find "Japs"... catchy, and I tend to use it <_<

My bad... let's start putting JPN instead...

Japs is a racist slur, the same way nigger is....sure you might get some people that use it casually, but in general its offensive....not a "catchy word" i would recommend running around saying in real life

You get your topic locked. Any more racial slurs and you'll get a ban.
