Believe it or not, Microsoft is the standard for personal computing.

It may be a de facto standard (since every body is practically forced to use Microsoft products in a daily basis), but rkruger is not wrong.
Take POSIX for example, Microsoft never was fully compliant to it, and even now, it's an optional subsystem. Optional being the keyword.

And when talking about browsers, IE always tried to "create" standards, making their own little experiments, breaking compatibily so other browsers couldn't compete with it. Today, it is always behind of all the other browsers when talking about new features implementation.

Putting it short, if you want to make a desktop application, the Microsoft platform maybe the way to go, but web apps? I'm not so sure anymore.

OT: I like how the page is turning out, I'm not a fan of the background + shadows combination tho, it makes it a little harder to read at least for me :/
Anyway, are you planning to add something else or it will be all polishing the design from now on?

Actually, when it comes to IE, Microsoft just tries to be up to date, they literally can't make anything new to it sine IE is not meant to be the standard, especially after Microsoft got to pay for their attempt with WMP as default media player application so they stopped it's development and keep it to be updated with trends and stuff. Same thing is going on with IE.

I believe you can find it under my signature and in my profile already, not that you tried looking for it there or read the first post, I would never accuse you of paying attention.

Oh my, well I'm glad you understand.

A couple things come to mind.  You should choose a larger image as your wallpaper, i don't like how it repeats to fill the screen.  Or crop the image wider.

The text is a bit hard to read, but it looks nice.

The images load fine on Opera.

Havoc10K:
What screen resolution you work with ?
