Think, or feel?
apriuschan:
"The greatest danger to mankind is now mankind.
The mind of human beings has become too powerful and dangerous to be out of control. The thing (our minds) that helped our survival the most will be what destroys us if we do not get control of them soon."
Leading into this: "More than minds: The mind is the king of this world. Just about all institutions, schools, businesses, and governments promote and support the mind. This is all fine and good, as long as we know that we are more than our minds, that our minds are just a very small and temporary part of us."
What do you think of this? Rather, what do you feel from this? I'm not trying to spout off any beliefs, I'm curious. These 'excerpts', are from (click to show/hide)http://www.truthcontest.com/ .
I find it interesting to say the least, and it does make some good points. There's one part of me that feels "This is just a nonsensical pile of...nonsense." But the other welcomes some of the thoughts put into it.

Your post lost me (blame it on the al al al alcohol) but it seems like you are talking about reacting to feel or think. Think I would assuming thinking what you are told.
Before I elaborate, I want you to really clarify just wtf it is you are talking about.
AceHigh:
Whenever you feel something, that is also a process of the mind, so mind is everything that makes us who we are.
Looks to me like some people are trying to make up some pseudo-philosophical quotes that will make the idiots feel good about themselves.

"now"? I thought that this had been the case since the beginning of mankind.
I also have no idea what you are talking about. Are you trying to suppress critical thinking?

You know what the problem with searching for the "truth" is? The answers. Why? Because you cannot find them. No matter how much you ask for other people's opinions, you just won't find the REAL TRUTH. All you'll ever find is your self-serving "truth" regarding "truth," but that is if you're lucky. If you're not, then you will only be back to square one; and end up having even MORE questions that most cannot be answered at all.
Point here is, no matter how much the Christians or any religions preach, no matter how much Philosophy books you read, you can never find the real truth; for "we" are only offered half truths that may serve as roots for all our "nothing but conjectures." There's no real fact. Everything's an opinion. Reality is distorted, it's too malleable.
I hope I made sense, I don't really wanna write some tl;dr, so . . . I'm giving you the gist of the gist.
And just to add, always remember this quote from a favorite author of mine . . .
"To really ask is to open the door to the whirlwind."
