Yeah, offended me. It's not easy to do that. I'm often just slightly irritated when a man starts to talk about women and puts it as if it's a rule, yet it's something I wouldn't even consider doing. Especially crying. The last time I did that was before elementary shool and that was because I had enormous piece of metal stuck in my leg. Gee, maybe metro was right and I am emotionally jaded, heh.  I guess the irritation is caused by all the years of listening to men talk about "them stupid bitches" (vulgar simplification) on the internet and sometimes, I can't help but take it personally.

But thinking back, I'm really a bit odd. I never went trough the "looking cool" stage or the typical high school experiences and romances. I never liked "bad boys", I never sat there with girls talking about ... shit. I never giggled on football players, I never blushed, neved made little hearts out of question marks, never smoked to look adult, never drank for the sake of drinking, never played the dare games... And man, it goes on and on. But, for some reason, trying to not be cool and not caring was perceived as very cool by many, but it usually din't last for long, as not many people could take my sarcasm and skepticism at that time, lol.  I usually ended up with a group of nerds making epic poems about my accomplisments in Morrowind and Ultima.
Well. That's sad. I almost want to go on about it and it feels so long time ago even tho it's not more than 7 or 8 years.
Oh the nostalgia overload.
Wow. While reading through this, I feel like a reincarnation of you (though, you haven't technically passed on yet). Very interesting, it is.

You're a reincarnation with a gender swap? And she's still alive? This shit is getting weird.

@Elvi, you should read the one I made about getting an Arts degree, people got downright upset.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

The thread title does this topic no justice imo but I digress.  At least it was philosophical and ambiguous enough to draw my attention.

I'm a little tipsy so that's my excuse but here goes.

Men can stumble into things. No preparation needed.

Women can also stumble into things but...... what happens afterwards is what separates Mars from Venus. Or so I would like to believe...

As with most things human, exceptions are the rule rather than the norm. Ying and Yang. Because in the deepest part of Ying, you will find the opposite. Vice versa.

Sex is 90% in your head. At one level, it's the basest of human instinct. On another level, it's also the epitome of our imagination and romanticism.

Our views on sex will change with time and experience, so it's hard to answer your question OP. But I tend to agree with the generalisation that sex is a more emotional event for women than it is for men. And you may be right. It may have something to do with our biology and physiology. That thought has crossed my mind and it's me being very clinical. That is not to say I'm not emotional. Trust me, I am.

So when I first discovered sex, did I see girls differently based on whether they were virgins? To be honest, that question only came up when assessing my chances to get laid. In fact, it was in my head before I even lost my virginity. Yes, I was a pretty horny kid with a wild imagination.  :P

Do I still see things that way? Whether women are virgins or not no longer matters. But if the sexual tension and attraction is there, chances are I would fantasie about her at some point.

I'm not sure if this was the discussion you were after but for what it's worth, that's how it is for me.  :P

Technically alive?  That sounds... dangerous at best.
And yeah, weird people are everywhere. But then again, maybe we're just not part of the "sheeple". Maybe it's even good. I know I wouldn't  trade or change.

But to clarify, I wasn't a boring abstinent, I just never participated in the "Hey, let's go over to x and see if they'll ask for ID when we order a beer YEEEAAAAH So badass!" and I made sure noone ever saw me smoking.
Heck, maybe people back then would even think I'm funny if the knew what sarcasm is.

@metro
How could Art thread be so entertaining as something revolving about sex? Also, you can't even tell a girl from a boy, how could YOU possibly tell who's a virgin...  ;D

@rosh
That wasn't sarcasm. Totally not the most obviouis sarcasm I ever used on BBT. No. Nope. Non, non, non. Nein. Ne.

I'm sorry, I think I sidetracked the thread. Another one. Again.

Let's go back and start by metro talking about his sexual experiences.
Go on, comrade.

Haha now that's just downright emo :( Ray isn't even around for this one.

Right I was talking to my friend while we were eating lunch, and this girl said...
Quote
You are what's wrong with University, guys here are just so fucking stupid, you don't understand girls at all.

After that,she got up and left, and then we saw her toking up while making out with a guy. So I'm not sure what to make of this.

I'm sorry, I think I sidetracked the thread. Another one. Again.

Toking up while making out. That sounds dangerous. You could loose several eyes or other bits in one sitting.

What exactly have you said to be flagged as not very understanding?

And just what topic would that be? Absurd images? Yaoi?  :P

Also wanted to make a defense-joke about the women in england, but then I realised it's no joking matter. The level of uglyness is seriously high in some areas, haha.

Reminded me of this old video  ;D
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

But you're just being elitist ;) Virginity, or lack thereof by extension, isn't something that makes you better or worse then someone.

Oh. I didn't mean to come off as elitist. I was just trying to say the revelation about a girl's v-status would only phase me if it was one of the first things I learned about the girl.

HOWEVER, looking back, I just exercised a thought experiment where I would judge my reaction upon learning that [insert Brandon's female friend here] is not a virgin. While, yes, the response was something to the effect of, "woah," I still don't think it would have changed my opinion of her that much.

So, to summarize, I don't think I would look at the girls I know well in a different light knowing that they have/haven't had sex.

@metro
Hey, make threads like this often. Nothing else sparks my interest so much. I hope I didn't sound like I actually dislike any part of the thread.

I thought I didn't need to clarify that the acts were taking place around the same time, not exactly at the same time. Then I forgot I was dealing with you Elvi.

Quote from: I said
Okay so, to be clear, you think that if a girl is a virgin and tells you soon after meeting her, without you knowing previously she was, you gain respect for her? I don't see how that makes any sense. I guess...no. I really don't get it. Please explain.
Should be noted, this friend was a guy.

The topic is one that goes in to a territory that reveals just how immoral I am, and I tend to avoid those conversations when I can. Back story is a bitch I don't care to tame.
