Watching 10 bit anime on flatscreen TV's ***GUIDE***

You do know the difference between GPU and CPU, eh? The thing about ION is that it relies on the GPU (GF9400) for HD playback. However, since the GPU does not support 10-bit content, you're screwed, because the CPU alone isn't up to the task.
As for my decision - I was happy when I got it and I am still happy now. I'll just have to convert the 10-bit stuff.

Yes, but now we're on the argument of "the ION box is awesome unless you want to watch 10bit stuff," which was the point of the thread. Essentially going right back to "the ION box is useless." and "You're better off getting a better HTPC."

The point of the thread was "what to do with 10-bit stuff when you don't want to buy a new computer".

The world does not revolve around 10-bit anime. And for everything else, an ION box is awesome.
I don't care the least about buying a new box just because of a fad that will be dead and gone as soon as fansubbers find a new toy.
