Who will be Romney's running mate?
xfreidax:
What complex study do you need? People have been on vegetarian diets for centuries. Last I checked, the same cultures that practice some form of vegetarian diet centuries ago are still practicing it now and are alive and thriving. Of course it's possible. :P

@X
People also say there was this 600 yours old guy at that time...
To be somewhat accurate, I guess you should have at least two or three generations of people who never had any meat products where you can really test on the third. Things like vitamin deficiency, severe joints problems, protein deficiency and about hundert of other things do not manifest overnight and it could be interesting to see what effects there might be across generations. Also I never said that if you stop eating meat you drop dead.
Burkingam:
@elvikun Do you still believe what you are saying or are you just arguing for the sake of arguing? When I and then xfreidax said that people have been on vegetarian diets for centuries we mean that generations after generations since the 6th century BC people in India have been vegetarians, keeping this tradition from parent to children for millenia. Nowadays it's 40% of the second most populous country who never eat meat. It's also one of the most commonly studied country when it comes to assessing the health effect of a lactovegetarian or an Ovo-lacto vegetarian diet. There have been thousands of studies on the subject. And even if you tackle the question from a purely theoretical point of view, there is no know essential nutrients that can't easily be found in a lactovegetarian diet. We are not talking about a few indirect evidences and or an ancient book written by shepherds, we are talking about an overwhelming amount of scientific evidences that the ovolactovegetarian and lactovegetarian diets are either as healthy or healthier than an omnivore diet.
AceHigh:
You can abuse any kind of diet. God only know how many vegans don't get essential nutrients just because they don't know of the products that would replace meat.
Now wrap this shit up, it somehow feels wrong to see pussy stuff like vegetarianism in a thread dedicated to republicans who would slaughter cute bunnies and eat them raw out of spite.
elvikun:
@Burk
Healthy on some fronts, unhealthy on others. That's a simple fact. Monks and group of people in India are cool thing, not credible research in any concievable way. They are alive. That's an ovewhelming scientific fact. I prolly wouldn't be vegatarian if I believed you die the day you stop eating meat.
And in all honesty, I'm more interested in your guild trip logic because it's amazing. Just felt that this could keep you going.
