Games you wish hadn't sucked.
keccakec:
I was looking forward to the new Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, but in all honestly kind of hated the way it played.
For those of you that have played Singularity that, at least for me, was a huge disappointment. It had so much more potential. Then there's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, which was just bad. Keep in mind this is probably pretty opinionated, but I liked the multiplayer in Brotherhood better than the singleplayer. That is something I never expected to happen.
Bloodfox:
I'll have to go with the Overlord series.
SirSkyRider:
Atelier Rorona/Meruru/Totori: The Alchemist of Arland. They weren't that bad, but they lacked the special something that drew me towards the Atelier Iris trilogy.
Aaaand Metroid Other M. The gameplay was rubbish and the way Samus was portrayed was very different from the image that was conveyed this far.
I personally think this gaming gen had a lot of rather mediocre games which were highly rated (for instance, Skyrim or Call of Duty).

I was expecting some heavy nerd rage following this post. I'm disappointed (I agree btw).
Mass Effect 3. Wasn't a bad game, but two arcs don't redeem it for me and compared to ME2, it was stale. Also, the combat in ME 3 was way too easy. In 2, I had fun actually putting forth some squad tactics to completely overwhelm enemies and dominate them and all classes played differently. In this one, all I did was run and shoot everything I saw without worrying about cover unless I was going against a Brute or Banshee. :-\

A few indie games:
Academagia, and Girl with a heart of. Way too short. It is like they were cut off at about 20% in.
