Games you wish hadn't sucked.
metro.:
Alpha Protocol. God damn I wanted to like that game so much, it had the potential but it was let down by shitty, shitty action sequences.
Havoc10K:
Triltaison:
Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
I loved the other three console games, so was super excited for it and got it as a midnight launch. But, well... I just didn't get invested in the whole Byzantine thing at all. I didn't really care about any characters in that whole chunk of the game, just the Altair flashbacks. I read that it was originally meant to be a sidestory on handhelds, and it really felt like a sidestory instead of a furthering of the main story. Wasn't particularly enamored of Desmond's history expansion, either.
Hopefully the new one will return to form, but I'm pretty mixed about it right now. Gonna miss my tower climbing, anyway.

A big part of the problem there is that the gaming industry really seemed to hit it off with the general population as opposed to mainly nerdy people who want something more than just "hulk smash" from a game. I remember watching someone playing Dragon Age II on easy. When I saw that he was playing on easy I chided him. A game that requires as little effort as DA2 should never be played on easy from my perspective. Admittedly my reaction was harsh as there are those gamers who are "casual" and just want to hit buttons and feel like a hero. However, he then retorted by saying that he wouldn't have been able to kill a dragon at level 12 otherwise. I eventually got the game myself when it was on sale. Without armor on (a purely cosmetic mod I have effects only the underwear...and no its not a nude mod) at level 9, on hard, in my first play through, I did the same thing. The guy must be a fuck'tard of some sort, or else incredibly lazing.
In any case, I think this is the problem.

I had that thought recently playing Prototype 2, Kingdoms of Amalur, and Asura's Wrath. Though mentioning Dragon Age II, and comparing it to Bioware's past works in NWNs Baldur's Gate, and Icewind Dale -- the ease at which you become godly is startling. I suppose Asura's Wrath can be forgiven considering it's what I expected from it.
Still, the idea of delayed satisfaction seems to be rather unpopular.
I really need to get Dark Souls, I have a yearning for something I'll die a lot in.
