My Physics teacher told me of a similar incident last year. I forgot how he exactly explained it, but the situation was him rear-ending another car. Apparently the officers have to have knowledge of the physics behind those situations to an extent, or are supposed to.

The paper basically says "the officer did not see me stop at the sign because another car was between us at the time".

Basically that and using physics to prove that it was playing tricks with policeman's vision. Either way that was really creative. I applaud the guy.
