when i say i love my country but i hate the people who lives here, here is one of the reasons:

This problem is cultural and the government doesn't care about changing the culture so "we" behave better to preserve public stuff. Yes what is public my country citizens tend to destroy it.

Pharismo... have you ever been to the US on Black Friday? Black Friday in the US is great because people are getting maced by crazy (and I mean bat shit... mad cow disease ridden... PCP induced... fucking crazy) people. A little cake fight is fun... people get seriously injured on Black Friday though.

Honestly, I'm surprised other nations didn't do this... but then again... Brazil met my expectations of people (in general). Congratz!

Seems he's embarrassed by his fellow countrymen by their "greedy" behaviour, and that the rest of us are so much better. To be honest, that actually looked more fun than embarrassing. Although if the idea is that all get their free share of the cake, then yes, I can see it. We don't have such a thing in Denmark so I can't really compare, but I do have up-front experience with Brazillians (two-three people, I think) and their behaviour. They're really kind and open so that's a totally different feeling than me who usually takes a glance at someone before I start to speak to them. But it's also really awkward when they expect you to be as open as them, and you're just not.

Kinda reminded me of what I saw behind shopping center, when McDonalds employees threw "old" burgers into a trash and large group of hobos started to kill each other while rolling in trash and eating the burgers along with papers and other crap.

But don't ask goverment to fix the mentality of people. You don't want goverment to controll every step people do and how people think. Not more than goverments already do.

Actually I watched that video and came away with the impression that it was just a bit of fun. That it was meant to be like that. A free for all plus maybe a cake fight?

Couple of interesting things I noticed. In the Canadian and Indonesian examples, there were staff cutting up the cake and handing it out to the public.

Would we have seen similar scenes if the same happened at that event in Brazil? Is there a reason why there was no staff there to control the crowd and dish out the cake?

I mean, the government doesn't make any campaign to make the citizens to care about the public things and preserve it.

Also if something is free the public tend to get it only for himself and doesn't care with sharing even if he doesn't needs it.
