Gears of War 3 freezing issue

so i havent played gears of war 3 since like christmas so i put it in to finally play through it. i started up a new campaign but i got stuck at the loading screen and it never got past that. apparently there was some big issue with this worldwide and people had the same issue. ive tried deleting my previous memory of saves and i still have the same problem. i do NOT have xbox live so i cant use anything of that sort to help me with this problem. ive tried the whole transfer saved game data onto a USB and unplug it quick solution but my USB apparently isnt compatible to be configured for the xbox so idk about that. any help would be appreciated since i wanna be able to play the game i payed $60 for..

What, you can't get support for a system and a game you've purchased just because you haven't bought their shiny additional service?

  apparently not. someones explanation was, "download the fix off of xbox live." well i dont feel like paying for xbox live so i guess that fix isnt available to me

Xbox Live SILVER memberships are free. Clearly you never connect your Xbox to the internet. Go do that... NOW. All updates are completely free to everyone... regardless if you have the Gold membership or not.

I don't even own an Xbox and I know that. XD

plug it into the internet, connect to xbox live then let it update, that should fix it

^ update it... if it srill doesnt work switch to PS3 or get a new xbox =.=

Try clearing your cache first. If that doesn't fix it, update it. Actually, update it anyway.

You sure your disc isn't damaged?

yeah the update fixed the problem. then it didnt go b/c it said the disc was unreadable. there was just a tiny scratch that i couldnt believe was making the disc unreadable. but i took it to a game store and had them fix it, now it works just fine. thanks for the help
