Hotkey your OS

(1/3) > >>

Tatsujin:
When I save images, I have 3 different folders I manage. I don't like "clicking" on the left shoulder to view that folder and to save the image there. I'd rather have a hotkey attached to it so I can just click that key and save it right away. Is there a way to do it?

bork:
create a folder shortcut in your SendTo.  Then right click the file and select SendTo and the folder shortcut.  Not a hot key but sort of close

It send a copy of the file to that folder so you will have to delete it from your current location.  I have not spent any time to check if there is send it without leaving the original behind.

Found this (actual remembered this about 10 min after I first posted) - should do the trick.  Create hot keys that can be tied to a script.  Your only limitation now is your scripting skill

JoonasTo:
just create shortcuts to your three folders in your default download directory and use names that start with some characters you never use on filenames so pressing that character autoselects the folder you want

I mainly use around 8 different folders for images, so I have had the same problem, but couldn't find a way to do it with hotkeys. I did however find a solution to my problem, with an addon called "Save Image in Folder". With it you are able to set different directions, that you can save images to. This is the best solution I have managed to find, but if it is possible with hotkeys, I would diffidently find it worth trying out.

Edit:
God I feel stupid I just found out Save Image in Folder actually do have hot-keys support, under option->miscellaneous-> and then check "display numeric shortcuts trailing the first ten folder entries"

bork:
That would work on an image on a web page, but I think the original post was how to move a file that has been download and exists in a folder on his system to a new location.
