Were it not for the price jacking up I would be getting some more internal drives as well.

Buying a preassembled external drive is like buying a prebuilt PC, just a lot more obfuscated.

May I ask...

Anyone knows of an external enclosure for multiple HDDs with SEPARATE eSATA ports? I've been searching and searching but ALL of them just have 1 stupid port for all drives?

I'm looking for a case for 4 HDDs or so, like this one:

It's nice and all, but 1 eSATA. They all rely on the stupid "port multiplier". My poor chipset (AMD SB710) only supports that function on one SATA port and only for 2 drives. Plus

The only thing I found with 4 separate ports is this dock (I have the dual slot version and it rocks, well built and reliably so far ;D)

But I'd like more an enclosure... having the HDDs protected in there. Only internal racks have separate SATA ports, but using those as external is quite a trouble <_<
