I still regret not buying it.

Christ.

Someone I know got an '04 Acura TSX for something like 8 grand. Which is impressive.

Anyways, on topic, don't buy a laptop for 3 grand.

That's a lot of money to pay for a laptop.

I wanted to buy this one but had to choose between getting a new laptop or getting a new car and since I can't drive a laptop to work i had to get the car so I settled for a 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer ls.

That's around 10 grand on the car, if I'm not mistake.
Also, do we have to go over how bad of an idea gaming laptops are again?

Nope, if he wants the laptop and can afford it then by all means buy it, he knows the pros and cons now so it's up to him.

i have a job where housing is included but there isnt enough space to set up a full high end gaming rig and i dont feel good leaving 3000$ worth of hardware lying around when im away so i thought i might as well go for a laptop
but thinking it over i might be able to get a mini atx case+ a laptop(btw any thoughts on the chromebooks?)
